A. ROLL CAIS, AND PLEDGE OF ALLEGIANCE: Present: Mayor van Tamelen and Councilnenbers Hillestad, Perkins and Proft Absent: Councilman Allison Staff: City Manager Ann Hinshaw and City Clerk Pat Dodd NOTION SECONDED AND CARRIED: moved by Proft, seconded by Hillestad and passed in+a*+++musly by all members present to approve Change Order #1 to the construction contract for repair of E1 Monte Road, specifically a $3,310 additional expense on the Taaffe Contract for E1 Monte Road and a Town expense of $1,703 for materials for a total project cost of $5,013. ••A • to • N •. •9•• •- '•A W -mm IN 01 MOTION SBMMIDED AND CARRIED: Moved by Perkins, seconded by Hillestad and passed unanimously by all members present to adopt Resolution #1604 approving and authorizir execution of an agreement between the City of the Town of Los Altos Hills and Martin S. Taaffe CD., Inc. D. CONSIDERATION OF PURCIASE AND INSEAILATION OF GUAM RAIL ON EM43EN1CY BASIS The City Manager requested Council to consider approving the purchase and installa- tion of a guard rail on E1 Monte Road for safety purposes. She further noted that under the Public Contracts code this could be approved on an emergency basis by a 4/5 vote of the Council in the public interest, health and safety. MOTION SECONDED AND CARRIED: Moved by Proft, seconded by Hillestad and passed u Umi,,,sly by all members present to adopt Resolution #1605 approving the purchase and installation of a guard rail for E1 Monte Road (rot to exceed $15,000) for the public's interest, safety and health. Councilman Perkins asked the City Manager to provide a one-page sumlary of the various projects, expenditures, etc. so the Council could obtain a clear under- standing of the status of the projects. *AW E.
