II, Side 1, 001-713 mayor Proft called the Adjourned Regular 14getlng of the City Council to order at 7:10 p.m. in the Council Chambers of Town Hall. A. ROLL CALL AND PLEDGE OF ALLEGIANCE: Present: Mayor Proft and Councibyenbers McReynolds and Nystrom (CouncilwMan Hillestad arrived at 8:00 P -M-) Absent: Councilman Perkins Staff: City Manager Robert Crowe ; Director Of Public Safety Gordon P�fOld (Deputy City Clerk pat Dowd arrived at 8-00 P.m.) press: John Raess, Peninsula Times Tribune B. AD HOC PUBLIC SAFETY COM4ITIEE REPORT: The Director of public Safety presented his report to the Council- This report, which also included a slide presentation, dealt in part with the following issues: existing law enforc,,ent services; existing fire protection; and the proposed combination of poliOc and fire services - a Department of Public Safety. (A COPY Of this report is on file at Town Hall.) council had several questions and cmn�cnts for Mr. penfold regarding this issue. A question and answer period folla�d his presentation and the following residents addressed the Council regarding the issue of Public safety: Mary Stutz, 25310 Elena Road; Al and Mary Jackson, 26088 Duval Way; 26989 Mr. and Mrs. willism Kellogg, 12365 Melody Lane; Fran Stevenson, Beaver Lane; George Pfeiffery 26970 orchard Hill Lane; Louis Strayer, 25875 Estacada Way and Ann Combs, League of wmen Voters. it was agreed that Mr . Penfold would hold several open meetings on the matter of public safety� These meetings would be held � council Chcubers on the following dates: Saturday, March 27 and Saturday April 3 at 10:30 a.m. and Tuesday, March 30y Wednesday, March 31, Thursday, April 1, Tuesday, April 6 and Thursday, April 8 at 7:30 p.m. -the Council unanimously agreed to send to all residents of the Town notification of the dates of the public safety meetings and a suw�aY Of C.
