HomeMy WebLinkAbout07/21/1981CITY COUNCIL TOWN OF IDS ALTOS HTTIR 26379 Fremont Road Los Altos Hills, California MINUTES OF AN ADJOURNED REGULAR MEETING Tuesday, July 21, 1981 Mayor Proft called the Adjourned Regular Meeting of the City Council to order at 9:00 a.m. in the Council Chambers of Town Hall. A. POLL CALL AND PLEDGE OF ALLEGIANCE: Present: Mayor Proft, CoIDcllmemberS Hillestad, Nystrom and Perkins Absent: Councilman McReynolds Staff: City Manager Robert Crave, City Attorney Frank GilliO, City Engineer/ Planner John Carlson and Assistant Planner Pat Webb Press: Vince Troia, Los Altos Town Crier B. CONSENT CALENDAR: MOTION SECONDED AND CARRIED: Moved by Nystrom, seconded by Hillestad andpassed unanimously by all members present to approve the Consent Calendar, specifically: 1. Approval of Warrants: $32,514.33 2. Resolution for Adoption: a) Resolution #1371 approving lot line adjustment and map and accepting easements, Lands of Betz C. BUDGET STUDY SESSION• MOTION SECONDED AND CARRIED: Moved by Hillestad, Sa,ounded by Proft and passed unanimously by all MaMbers present to continue the Budget Study Session to the first meeting in August. D. MEDFLY REPORT: Pat Webb Medfly Coordinator, presented a brief overview of the Procedures con- cerning stripping the fruit, groundspraying and aerial spraying. In addition to and mechanical difficulties, there was the additional problem not enough helicopters in Town of the morning fog. Daylight spraying was begun in Town; however, p then arose with schedule changes and poor coamunito discuss Project Headquarters. Mayor Proft and Pat Webb met with Jerry Scribner to discuss the community's attitude and how to avoid future problems. It was agreed that the Town needed guidelines, a better communication system, more accurate schedules and a notification system from Project Headquarters. 1• CITY COUNCIL MINUPES - July 21, 1981 kv D. MEDFLY REPORT (continued): Mayor Proft suggested the Town receive written conmitments from the Medfly Project Headquarters regarding future procedures. bIDTION SECONDED AND CARRIED: Moved by Perkins, seconded by Nystrom and passed unanimously by all manbers present to give authority to the Mayor and the City Manager to hire personnel, etc. to handle the medfly problem. Don Henry,Assistant Medfly Project Director, addressed the Council regarding the various problems and stated that the Town would be notified what hours spraying would be taking place and over what areas. He further reported that they did not have a fruit re oval program at the time; they were requesting the residents to handle it. E.
