MINUTES OF AN ADJOURNED MEETING
Thursday, June 16, 1977

Mayor Keith Brown called the Adjourned Meeting of the City Council to order at
2:00 P.M. in the Council Chamber of Town Hall:
A. ROLL CALL:
Present: Council Members Cheney, Hillestad, McReynolds, Proft, Mayor Brown
Staff: City Manager Robert Crowe
B. CURRENT BUSINESS:
Discussion pertaining to the proposed Budget for FY 1977-78 submitted by the
City Manager continued. Following are the actions taken by Council concensus
for the budget account numbers indicated:
1-460 - Parks & Pathways:
Council concensus was to agree to the proposed budget for this account as
submitted by the City Manager.
1-461 - Recreation:
Council concensus was to agree to the proposed budget for this account as
submitted by the City Manager.
1-462 - Cultural:
Council concensus was to agree to the proposed budget for this account as
submt1ted by the City Manager.
Capital Improvements Budqet:
PROJECT AMOUNT PROPOSED COUNCIL ACTION
Town Entrance Signs $2,400 Reduce total amount proposed
to $2,000.00.
Town Hall Signs 800 Delete proposed expenditure
entirely.
Landscaping for Signs 1,500 Delete proposed expenditure
entirely.
Youth Facility Landscaping 750 Delete proposed expenditure
entirely.
Pathways (Fremont to Pur- 10,000 Reduce by $5,000, transferring
issima) that reduction to the Drainage
improvements budget.

C. ADDITIONAL BUSINESS: INTERVIEWS WITH PLANNING COMMISSION CANDIDATES.
Subsequent to interviewing applicants for the vacancies on the Planning
Commission, the following actions were taken by the City Council:
Councilman McReynolds nominated Commissioner William Perkins and Mr. Arthur
Lachenbruch to fill the Commission terms expiring June 30, 1978.
Councilman Cheney nominated Commissioner Theodora Schick and Commissioner
William Hahn to fill the same terms.
Councilwoman Hillestad moved, seconded by Councilman Proft to close nominations
for the two Commission terms expiring June 30, 1978. Commissioner Perkins and
Mr. Lachenbruch received the appointments, Councilmembers Hillestad, McReynolds,
Proft and Mayor Brown having so cast their votes. Councilman Cheney cast his
vote for Commissioners Schick and Hahn.
Councilwoman Hillestad nominated Commissioner Judith Carico and Mr. Michael
Kuranoff to fill the Commission terms expiring June 30, 1979.
Councilman Cheney nominated Cdr. Joseph Dochnahl and Commissioner Theodora Schick
to fill the same terms.
Councilman McReynolds moved, seconded by Councilwoman Hillestad to close nominations
for the two Commission terms expiring June 30, 1979. Council votes cast were as
follows:
Commissioner Schick - one vote; Councilman Cheney.
Commissioner Carico - four votes; Council Members Hillestad, McReynolds, Proft
Mayor Brown.
Mr. M. Kuranoff - five votes; unanimous by Council Members.
Commissioner Carico and Mr. Michael Kuranoff were appointed to the Planning
Commission to fill the two terms expiring June 30, 1979.
Councilman Proft nominated Cdr. Joseph Dochnahl and Mrs. Mary van Tamelen to
fill the Commission terms expiring June 30, 1980.
Councilman Cheney nominated Commissioner Theodor Schick to fill one of the
same terms.
Councilman McReynolds moved, seconded by Councilman Proft to close nominations

Planning Commission Appointments (Cont'd):
for the two Commission terms expiring June 30, 1980. Council votes cast were
as follows:
Commissioner Schick - one vote; Councilman Cheney
Cdr. J. Dochnahl - four votes; Council Members Hillestad, McReynolds, Proft,
Mayor Brown.
Mrs. Mary van Tamelen - five votes; unanimous by Council Members.
Councilwoman Hillestad nominated Commissioner Stewart to the four year term
on the Commission expiring June 30, 1981.
Councilman Cheney nominated Commissioner Schick to fill the same term.
Councilman McReynolds moved, seconded by Councilman Proft to close nominations
for the Commission term expiring June 30, 1981. Commissioner Michael Stewart
was appointed to fill the term, Councilmembers Hillestad, McReynolds, Proft
and Mayor Brown having so cast their votes. Councilman Cheney cast his vote
for Commissioner Theodora Schick.
D. ADJOURNMENT:
