MINUTES OF AN ADJOURNED MEETING
Thursday, June 17, 1976
SESSION NOT TAPE RECORDED
Mayor Robert Cheney called the Adjourned Meeting of the City Council to order
at 3:05 P.M. in the Council Chambers of Town Hall:
A. ROLL CALL:
Present: Councilmen Grabowski, Proft, Councilwoman Hillestad, Mayor Cheney
Absent: Councilman Brown
Staff: City Manager Robert Crowe
B. CURRENT BUSINESS:
The purpose of the Adjourned Meeting was to continue discussion of salaries
and fringe benefits for Staff for BY 1976-77.
Councilman Grabowski moved, seconded by Councilwoman Hillestad, that the
total amount of increase for Town employees be $9,380 for nine positions.
Motion carried unanimously by roll call vote.
Councilman Proft moved, seconded by Councilwoman Hillestad, that Norma
Hislop be designated City Clerk and that she receive an additional $100/mo
and be considered Exempt to compensate for the duties. Motion carried
unanimously by roll call vote.
Councilman Proft moved, seconded by Councilwoman Hillestad, that the Accounting
Technician, Pearl Croy, be designated Accountant/City Treasurer, and that the
Draftsman, Daryl Fazekas, be designated the Building Inspector, and that both
positions be considered Exempt. Motion carried unanimously by roll call vote.
Councilman Grabowski moved, seconded by Councilwoman Hillestad, that the
City Manager be given an 8.5% increase in salary. Motion carried by the
following roll call vote:
AYE: Councilmen Grabowski, Proft, Councilwoman Hillestad
NO: Mayor Cheney
ABSENT: Councilman Brown
ABSTAIN: None

Mayor Cheney corrected p. 5 of Minutes to reflect that the Public
Hearing (Item 1 b) was declared open at 8:49 P.M. On p. 7, 4th para.,
Mr. Bergren's name corrected to Norman.
June 17, 1976: Councilman Grabowski requested that the Minutes under
'Curr�ness" be expanded to reflect the discussion that took 1/2/n
place pertaining to salary increases for Town Staff. He noted that the
discussion of Council in this regard concerned salarycr asesFat�a a�
percentage increase, the high of which was 13%, T
and a low of 5%, recommended by Mayor Cheney. He noted that Council had
finally compromised by voting for an 8% salary increase for employees,
with an 8.5% increase for the City Manager.

Citv Manaaer - Account #1-401:
Councilwoman Hillestad moved, seconded by Councilman Grabowski, to reduce
the proposed figure for Part -Tine and Temporary Help, Account #1-401.02
to $2,000. Motion carried by the following roll call vote:
AYE: Councilman Grabowski, Councilwoman Hillestad, Mayor Cheney
NO: Councilman Proft
ABSENT: Councilman Brown
ABSTAIN: None
Personnel Fringe Benefits Proposed
Councilman Grabowski moved, seconded by Councilwoman Hillestad to deny
the proposed Self -Insured Dental Plan for Town employees. Motion carried
unanimously by roll call vote.
Council also directed the City Manager to use the average actual ratio
of Town contributions for Employee Health Benefits.
C. ADJOURNMENT:
Council adjourned at 5:10 P.M.
