MINUTES OF AN ADJOURNED MEETING
September 25, 1973

A. ROLL CALL:
Present: Councilwoman Miller, Mayor Helgesson
Absent: Councilman Grabowski
B. CANVAS OF VOTES:
Mr. Frank Gillio, City Attorney, summarized Resolution 719 which declared
the result of the canvas of the Special Municipal Election held on
September 18, 1973 for the purpose of filling two vacant Council seats.
MOVED, SECONDED AND CARRIED: Councilwoman Miller moved, seconded by
Mayor Helgesson and carried unanimously to adopt Resolution 719.
[ C. OATH OF OFFICE:
~ In the absence of City Clerk, Mr. Lawson, Deputy City Clerk Norma Hislop
administered the oath of office to Mr. Robert C. Cheney and Mr. Thomas P.
McReynolds, after which, the newly elected Council members were invited
by the Mayor to take their seats on the Council.
D. ANNOUNCEMENTS:
Mayor Helgesson made the following announcements:
1.Bur�lar Prevention Program: The Santa Clara County Sheriff's Reserve
wouTdle�n an a ucatd— o al program for the citizens of the Town on
Saturday, September 29th, between the hours of 9:30 AM and 4:30 PM to
alert citizens in ways they can prevent or minimize chances of their
homes being burglarized. The Mayor stated that participation in the
Program was optional to the citizens, and that Town Hall would be used
as a base of operations this Saturday and all forthcoming Saturdays until
Program was complete.
2. Ames Research Center: In celebration of its' fifteenth birthday, NASA,
Ames Research h archear, was holding an open house to the public on
Saturday, September 29, from 10-4 and public was invited to tour the
Center.
3. ICC Dinner: The Town is hosting the forthcoming Inter -City Council
Dinner ting to be held at the Golden Pavillion Restaurant in Los
Altos on Thursday, October 4, 1973. The Mayor's Meeting will begin at
6:00 PPI, and Dinner will be served at 8:00 PH.

E. ADJOURNMENT:
The Mayor reminded all attending the Meeting that the next City
Council meeting was moved to Monday, October 0, 1973.
There being no further business, Councilwoman Miller moved, seconded
by Councilman McReynolds and unanimously carried, to adjourn the
Adjourned Meeting of the City Council at 5:05 P.M.
