Los Altos Hills Planning Commission and Labe family 14271 Miranda Avenue,
#1 SUPPLEMENT
AGENDA ITEM #

Distributed: 12
We would like to welcome the Labe family to our Los Altos Hills neighborhood. In the family's welcome letter
informing us of their plan for building a new home, they identify the views available from their property as
one of the attractions. We would like to acknowledge that for us too, the views from our house are definitely
one of the highpoints of this location.
Hoer 47 years in our home, we recognize the importance of protecting our views. Being able to see the San
Francisco Bay and it's surrounds, have provided years of solace and pleasure for all our family. Not only is this
important for sustaining our quality of life, but also for maintaining the maximum potential for marketing our
property should, at some future date, we decide to put it on the market.
After reviewing the plans and mock up for the new house to be built, our primary concern is related to
landscaping -both current and future. On the lot at 14271 Miranda, current view blocking landscaping has not
been maintained and has grown to a height that is inhibiting longstanding views from our house (please see
attached -picture of six foot man and the bush area).
We have not always understood how to be heard with respect to our neighbors going through the permit
process. Consequently when the long-term owners of the surrounding properties, who moved in around the
time we did, sold and moved, we did not know to attend or otherwise be present at the Planning Commission
meetings regarding maintaining low six foot height of landscaping as the previous owners always had.
We will be interested in being partners in the conversation about any upcoming new landscaping for the Labe
property with respect to potential negative impact on our view. In addition, we hope the new owners will
appreciate our desire to maintain the view they have been attracted by, and help us by reducing and
maintaining the current landscaping at a lower height (for example the bushes in picture maintained at close
to 6 foot) .
We really appreciate the transparent notification of this upcoming Labe house building, we also appreciate the
help of the planning department in reading this letter at the Planning Commission meeting addressing our
concerns. Please contact us with any additional questions -you can contact us at.eloandrews@icloud.com and
