AN ORDINANCE OF THE TOWN OF LOS ALTOS HILLS ADOPTING AS
AN UGENCY MEASURE THE AMENDMENT OF SUBPARAGRAPH (8) OF
SUBSECTION (a) OF SECTION 10-2.301 OF THE LOS ALTOS HILLS
MUNICIPAL CODE ELIMINATING THE REQUIREMENT OF AN
ADMINISTRATIVE SITE DEVELOPMENT PERMIT TO RECONSTRUCT
AN EXISTING VEHICULAR ACCESS OR DRIVEWAY
The City Council of the Town of Los Altos Hills, County of Santa Clara,
State of California, DOES ORDAIN as follows:
SECTION I. AMENDMENT OF CODE.
Subparagraph (8) of Subsection (a) of Section 10-2.301 entitled
"Permits" of Article 3 of Chapter 2 entitled "Site Development" of Title 10 of
the Los Altos Hills Municipal Code be and it hereby is amended to read as
follows:
Section 10-2.301. PERMITS.
(a)
(8) the enlargement of an existing private vehicular access
or driveway which does not change the location of the
access or driveway and does not increase the amount of
development area by more than one hundred fifty (1 S0)
square feet.
SECTION 2. URGENCY AND EFFECTIVE DATE.
Thic Ordinance is an Urgency Ordinance and is for the immediate
preservation of the public peace, health and general welfare. The facts
tpnstituting the urgency consist of the following:
Section 10-2.301 heretofore has required obtaining a site

development permit for the reconstruction of an existing private vehicular
access or driveway under certain stated conditions. While requiring such a
permit if the access or driveway is to be enlarged continues to be
necessary, no valid reason appears why such a permit should be required
if all that is proposed to be done is to reconstruct the existing access or
driveway.
It is necessary to eliminate any requirement for a permit to
reconstruct an existing vehicular access or driveway in order to save
property owners desiring to reconstruct their access or driveway during
the current construction season the time and expenses involved in
obtaining such a permit.
This Ordinance take effect immediately.
SECTION 3. POSTING.
This Ordinance shall be posted within the Town of Los Altos Hills in
three (3) public places.
PASSED AND ENACTED as an Urgency Measure at a regular meeting of
the City Council of the Town of Los Altos Hills this 3rd day of August, 1988,
by the following roll call:
AYES: Councilmember: Casey, Johnson, Tryon and van Tamelen
