HomeMy WebLinkAbout234ORDINANCE NO. 234 AN ORDINANCE OF THE TOWN OF LOS ALTOS HILLS AMENDING SECTIONS 3-1.117 and 3-1.210 RELATING TO BUSINESS LICENSES OF THE LOS ALTOS HILLS MUNICIPAL CODE The City Council of the Town of Los Altos Hills does ordain as follows: SECTION 1. AMENDMENT OF CODE. Section 3-1.117 of Article 1 of Chapter 1 entitled "Business Licenses" of Title 3 entitled "Finance" of the Los Altos Hills Municipal Code hereby is amended to read as follows: Section 3-1.117. License Taxes; Due Dates. All annual license taxes shall be due and payable in advance on the first business day in January of each year, and shall become delinquent thirty days thereafter. License taxes covering new business operations, commenced after the first day of January, shall be due and payable on the day such business is commenced, and shall be delinquent thirty days thereafter. The license fee for a new business commenced after the first day of July shall be fifty percent of the annual license fee for that business specified herein. Unless otherwise specifi- cally provided, license taxes shall not be prorated. SECTION 2. AMENDMENT OF CODE. Section 3-1.210 of Article 2 of Chapter 1 entitled "Business Licenses" of Title 3 entitled "Finance" of the Los Altos Hills Municipal Code hereby is amended to read as follows: Section 3-1.210. Real Estate Brokers, Salespersons and Employees. The annual license tax for persons carrying on the business of selling or buying real estate shall be based upon the average number of brokers, salespersons and employees and shall be computed at the following rates: First Broker $60.00 Next two (2) Brokers and Salespersons 10.00 each Each additional Broker or Salesperson 1.00 First three (3) employees 5.00 Each additional employee 1.00 SECTION 3. Each person to whom an annual business license was issued after January 1, 1976 shall be entitled to a credit for whatever unexpired portion of the business license remains after January 1, 1977. The credit shall be determined by pro -rating the annual license tax on a 365 day year, and shall be applied to the business license tax required to be paid by that person on the first business day in January 1977. SECTION 9. This ordinance shall be posted within the Town of Los Altos Hills in three (3) public places and shall become effective on January 1, 1977. I HEREBY CERTIFY that the foregoing Ordinance was introduced at a regular meeting of the City Council of the Town of Los Altos Hills on 3rd day of November , 1976, and was thereafter passed and adopted at a regular meeting of the City Council held on the 22nd day of November 1976. ��() e ]�.
