I too J <br />ORDINANCE NO. 283 <br />AN ORDINANCE OF THE CITY OF THE TOWN OF LOS ALTOS HILLS <br />AMENDING CHAPTER 5 ENTITLED "ZONING" OF THE LOS ALTOS <br />HILLS MUNICIPAL CODE BY AMENDING SECTIONS 9-5.217 AND <br />9-5.703 CONCERNING SECONDARY DWELLINGS AND SECTION 9- <br />5.601 CONCERNING REQUIRED PARKING SPACES <br />The City Council of the City of the Town of Los Altos Hills <br />DOES ORDAIN as follows: <br />SECTION 1. AMENDMENT OF CODE. <br />Section 9-5.217 entitled "Secondary Dwelling" of Chapter 5 en- <br />titled "Zoning" of Title 9 of the Los Altos Hills Municipal Code is <br />hereby amended to read as follows: <br />SECTION 9-5.217. DWELLING, SECONDARY. <br />"Secondary dwelling" shall mean an attached or detached <br />living unit intended for occupancy by caretakers or nonpaying <br />guests or relatives of the property owners, which living unit <br />shall be erected or maintained on land in one ownership upon <br />which land has been erected or maintained a primary dwelling. <br />SECTION 2. AMENDMENT OF CODE. <br />Subsection (k) of Section 9-5.703 entitled "Conditional Uses <br />and Structures (R -A)" of Chapter 5 entitled "Zoning" of Title 9 of <br />the Los Altos Hills Municipal Code is hereby amended to read as follows: <br />SECTION 9-5.703. CONDITIONAL USES AND STRUCTURES (R -A). <br />(k) Secondary dwellings are subject to the applicable <br />provisions of this chapter and other laws. A secondary dwell- <br />ing shall be subordinate to and architecturally compatible with <br />the primary dwelling. The gross floor area of a secondary dwell- <br />ing shall not exceed one thousand (1,000) square feet if detached <br />from the primary <br />
