ORDINANCE NO. 295
AN ORDINANCE OF THE CITY OF THE TOWN OF LOS ALTOS HILLS
ADOPTING AS AN URGENCY MATTER THE FIRST EXTENSION OF
ORDINANCE NO. 292
WHEREAS, on January 30, 1985 the City Council adopted Ordinance
No. 292 entitled:
"AN ORDINANCE OF THE CITY OF THE TOWN OF LOS ALTOS HILLS
ADOPTING AS AN URGENCY MEASURE INTERIM ZONING REGULATIONS
REQUIRING A SPECIAL LAND USE PERMIT FOR CONSTRUCTION OR
CONVERSION OF STRUCTURES EXCEEDING A HEIGHT OF FIFTEEN
(15) FEET IN AN R -A RESIDENTIAL -AGRICULTURAL DISTRICT"
pursuant to the provisions of Section 65858 of the Government Code
of California; and
WHEREAS, on March 11, 1985 and after notice pursuant to Section
65090 of the Government Code, the City Council conducted a public
hearing to determine whether to extend Ord No. 292 for ten (10)
months and fifteen (15) days,
NOW, THEREFORE, THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF THE TOWN OF LOS
ALTOS HILLS, County of Santa Clara, State of California, does ordain
as follows:
SECTION 1. FINDINGS.
The City Council finds:
(a) The study ordered to be made by the Planning
Commission and the Planning Officer concerning
whether to amend the existing zoning and land
use regulations of the City of the Town of Los
Altos Hills and to adopt a comprehensive set
of new and additional zoning andland use regu-
lations, respectively, concerning the maximum
height of structures in the R -A Residential-
Agricultural District has been commenced but
has not yet been completed and further time
is required within which to complete this
study.
(b) There continues to be a current and immediate
threat to the public health, safety and welfare
necessitating a continuance of the regulations
set forth in Ord No. 292 for each of the reasons,
determinations or findings which are set forth
in Subsections (a) to (e), inclusive, of Section
1 of Ord No. 292, each of which subsections is
incorporated into and made a part of this Ordi-
nance by reference, as though fully set forth
herein.
SECTION 2. EXTENSION.
Ordinance No. 292, be and it hereby is extended and continued
for a period of ten (10) months and fifteen (15) days to and includ-
ing January 26, 1986.
SECTION 3. URGENCY AND EFFECTIVE DATE.
This Ordinance is an urgency ordinance and is for the immediate
preservation of the public peace, health and general welfare. The
facts constituting the urgency are these.
The City of the Town of Los Altos Hills has commenced but has
not yet completed a study to determine whether to amend its existing
zoning and land use regulations and to adopt a comprehensive set of
new and additional .zoning and land use regulations, respectively,
concerning the maximum height of structures in the R -A Residential-

Agricultural District. In order to regulate the use of real property
within the City of the Town of Los Altos Hills for construction or
conversion of structures in excess of a maximum of fifteen (15) feet
in height and which may be in conflict with the new and additional
comprehensive zoning and land use regulations which the City Council,
Planning Commission and the Planning Officer are studying now, the
adoption of this Ordinance is necessary. This Ordinance is adopted
under the provisions of Section 65858 of the Government Code.
This Ordinance takes effect immediately.
This Ordinance shall remain in full force and effect for ten
(10) months and fifteen (15) days from the date of its adoption to
and including January 26, 1986.
SECTION 4. POSTING.
This Ordinance shall be posted within the City of the Town of
Los Altos Hills in three (3) public places and shall become effective
upon its adoption.
PASSED AND ENACTED as an Urgency Measure at an adjourned regular
meeting of the City Council of the City of the Town of Los Altos Hills
this lith day of March, 1985, by the following roll call vote:
AYES: Councilmember: Allison, Dronkert, Fuhn and van Tamelen
NOES: Councilmember: Rydell
