RESOLUTION NO. 887
RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE TOWN OF LOS
ALTOS HILLS EXTENDING THE MORATORIUM ON THE ACCEPT-
ANCE OF APPLICATIONS FOR THE DIVISION OF LAND
WHEREAS, on July 3, 1974 the City Council of the Town of Los
Altos Hills adopted Resolution No. 790 which imposed a moratorium
upon the acceptance of applications for the division of land within
the Town of Los Altos Hills; and
WHEREAS, on November 6, 1974 the City Council adopted Resolution
No. 832 which extended the above described moratorium for an additional
period of eight (8) months from and after November 4, 1974; and
WHEREAS, the City Council desires to consider the extension of
the above described moratorium for an additional period of one
year pursuant to Section 65858 of the Government Code; and
WHEREAS, on June 18, 1975 the City Council adopted Resolution
No. 885 setting the hour of 7: 30 P.M. on July 2, 1975 at the
meeting place of the City Council as the time and place for con-
ducting a public hearing on the proposed extension of the above
described moratorium; and
WHEREAS, notice of the public hearing has been given in the
manner prescribed by Section 68586; and
WHEREAS, a public hearing has been conducted on the proposed
extension of the above described moratorium and it appearing that
there has not been a period sufficient to allow completion of a
full review of the Town regulations affecting subdivisions and the
preparation, consideration and adoption of such modifications of
the said regulations as may be found to be appropriate and. necessary,

and it further appearing that there has been commenced a study of
the problems described in Resolution No. 790, to wit:
1. Excessive grading which results in accelerated erosion,
sedimentation and runoff causing downstream flooding, ugly scars
on which 'it is difficult to reestablish vegetation, alteration of
the natural environment in such a manner as to be inconsistent with
the basic aesthetic qualities of the Town, the creation of cut and
fill banks over which drivewayaccesses to lots are difficult to
achieve;
2 . Excessive removal of trees which results in loss of
aesthetic value and modification of micro climates; and
3. The creation of lots which do not afford sites which pro-
vide space suitable for the variety of uses normally associated
with residential uses in the Town;
and it further appearing that the moratoriumimposed in Resolution
No. 790, as previously extended by. Resolution No. 832, should be
extended and continued for an additional period of one (1) year to
allow the completion of the studies described above, together with
regulations affecting subdivisions and the preparation, consideration
and adoption of such modifications of said regulations as may be
deemed necessary and appropriate.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the City Councilof the Town
of Los Altos Hills that the moratorium upon the acceptance of
applications for the division of land more particularly described
in Resolution No. . 790,adopted--on -July 3;•-1974, .andpr.eviously-extended
by_ .Resolution- No-832, adopted on.-November 6, 1974.,.: be and the same
hereby is ordered continued and extended for one (1) year from and
after July 3, 1975.

I HEREBY CERTIFY that the foregoing resolution was passed and
adopted at a regular meeting of the City Council of the Town of Los
Altos Hills, held on the 2nd day of July, 1975.
