AN ORDINANCE UNDER THE PROVISIONS OF SECTION 14401 OF THE MUTH AND SAFETY CODE OF THE STATE OF CALIFORNIA AS AMENDED BY THE STATUTES OF 1951 OF ELECTION TO REMAIN WITHIN THE EXISTING FIRE DISTRICT SUBJECT TO ALL THE BENEFITS AND RESPONSIBILITIES THEREOF. ALSO MAZING THIS AN EMERGENCY MEASURE TO TAKE EFFECT DIMEDIATELY. WHEREAS it is deemed in the best interests of the Town of Los Altos Hills that it remain within the Los Altos County Fire Protection District wherein a portion of the area of the incorporated city was located prior to incorporation and to which the incorporated city is now adjacent and contiguous; and WHEREAS the continuity of fire protection is essential and this Ordinance is for the immediate preservation of the public peace and safety inasmuch as otherwise the City will have no facilities or personnel or equipment to fight any fires within its limits or give protection therefrom; and WHEREAS the Council of the Town of Los Altos Hills recognizes and accepts such facts, NOW, THEREFORE, THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE TOWN OF LOS ALTOS HILLS DOES ORDAIN AS FOLLOWS: SECTION 1. It is hereby declared to be the intention and desire of the Town oT Los Altos Hills, California, as expressed herein by its governing body, the City Council of said City, that said City be embraced within and included in the Los Altos County Fire Protection District, said Town of Los Altos Hills being adjacent and contiguous to said Los Altos County Fire Protection District. Introduced January 28, 1956, by Councilman Bledsoe. PASSED AND ADOPTED this 28th day of January 1956, by the following vote: AYES: Councilmen Bledsoe, Dungan, Bothwell and Treat NOES: None ABSENT: Councilman A. E.
