A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE TOWN OF LOS ALTOS
HILLS DECLARING THE RESULT OF ITS CANVASS OF THE GENERAL
MUNICIPAL ELECTION HELD ON MARCH 5, 1974 FOR THE PURPOSE
OF ELECTING TWO MEMBERS OF THE CITY COUNCIL, AND OF THE
SPECIAL REVENUE LIMIT INCREASE AND ANNUAL GOVERNING BOARD
MEMBER ELECTIONS IN THE PALO ALTO UNIFIED SCHOOL DISTRICT
PARTIALLY CONSOLIDATED WITH THE GENERAL MUNICIPAL ELECTION
RESOLVED, by the City Council of the Town of Los Altos Hills,
California, that
WHEREAS, by resolution duly passed and adopted the Town of Los
Altos Hills called and ordered a General Municipal Election to be held
for the purpose of electing two members of the City Council, each to
be elected for a term of four (4) years expiring at the regular
Municipal Election in March, 1978; and
WHEREAS, by proceedings heretofore duly had and taken, the Special
Revenue Limit Increase and Annual Governing Board Member elections held
in the Palo Alto Unified School District on March , 5, 1974 , were duly
partially consolidated with the general municipal election; and
WHEREAS, notice of said special municipal election and partially
consolidated elections were duly posted or published as required by
law and by said resolution; and
WHEREAS, it appears that said special municipal election and
partially consolidated elections were duly held in accordance with the
law and said call on the 5th day of March, 1974 , and that the polls
for said election were kept open during the time required by law, and
that said election was held and conducted and the votes thereat :
received and canvassed and the returns thereof ascertained, determined

and declared all as provided in the laws of the State of California;
and
WHEREAS, the Council of the Town of Los Altos Hills has duly
convened at its usual meeting place on the 12th day of March, 1974,
being the first Tuesday after the election, and has completed a
canvass of returns of such election and;
WHEREAS, said canvass was duly completed and the results thereof
are as hereinafter set forth;
NOW, THEREFORE, IT IS HEREBY RESOLVED BY the City Council of
the Town of Los .Altos Hills that:
1. The City Council finds and hereby ratifies and declares the
result of the general municipal election and the partially consolidated
elections held on March 5, 1974 to be as follows:
A. That said general municipal election and partially
consolidated elections were held and conducted in the Town of Los
Altos Hills, County of Santa Clara,. State of California, on Tuesday,
March 5, 1974 , in the time, form and manner required by law.
B. That there were five (5) voting precincts:
i. Consolidated Precinct No. 1 (American Orthodox
Church) consisting of County Precincts 2386,
2388 and 2392;
ii. Consolidated Precinct No. 2 (Purissima School)
consisting of County Precincts 2385 and 2390;
iii. Consolidated Precinct No. 3 (Bullis School)
consisting of County Precincts 2389, 2394 and 2395;
iv. Consolidated Precinct No. 4 (Los Altos Hills
Council Chambers) consisting of County Precincts

2387, 2391 and 2393) ;
v. Consolidated Precinct No. 5 (Temple Beth Am)
consisting of County Precincts 2381, 2382, 2383
and 2384.
C. That a canvass of thevotes cast in said city was held in
accordance with the order of the City Council and in accordance with
the law.
D. The total number of ballots cast in the City at said
general municipal election and partially consolidated elections was
2016 ballots. No ballots were spoiled and not counted.
E. That the names of the persons voted for and the offices
to fill which each person was voted for, were:

F. That there were five (5) consolidated precincts, and the
following number of votes was cast for each candidate for each

G. That 106 duly registered voters who expected to be
absent from their election. precinct on the day of the. election
secured from the City .Clerk and .94 duly registered voters returned
to the Clerk, in the time required by law, absentee ballots.
H. That. 94 absent voter ballots have been duly received
and canvassed in .thetime, form and manner as required by law, and
the result of the absentee vote, without regard to precincts, is as
follows:

Q. At said general municipal election and partially conso-
lidated elections the following measure was submitted to the electors
of the Palo Alto Unified School District and the number of votes given
in the two consolidated precincts in the City which were within the
partially consolidated election for and against the measure (including
absentee votes) was as follows:

Shall there be authorized an increase
in revenue limit per unit of average
daily attendance estimated to continue
the 1973-1974 tax rate of Five Dollars
and Ninety-Six Cents and Eight Mills
($5. 968) for each One Hundred Dollars
($100) of assessed valuation of prop-
erty of the Palo Alto Unified School
District for the school year 1974-1975.
The requested increase of the revenue
limit per unit of average daily atten-
dance shall be from Sixteen Hundred
and Forty-Seven Dollars and Eleven
Cents ($1,647.11) to Seventeen Hun-
dred and Seventy-Seven Dollars and
Forty-three Cents ($1,777.43) , such in-
crease to be effective in the PALO
ALTO UNIFIED SCHOOL DISTRICT for the
school year 1974-1975 only, the revenues
of which are to be used for the mainten-
ance of the educational program, in-
cluding funds for instructional supplies,
library books, the maintenance and repair
of buildings, grounds and equipment,
operation, employee salaries, capital
outlay, and to make such other lawful
expenditures as may be required? 512 290

precincts in the partially consolidated election for and against the
measure was as follows:

BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the City Council does here and now
declare that at said General Municipal held on the 5th day of March,

1974, the following persons are elected:
Robert C. Cheney - Member of the City Council for
a term of four (4) years ending
March 1978.
Stanley W. Grabowski - Member of the City Council for
a term of four (4) years ending
March 1978 .
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED. that the City Clerk be and he is hereby
instructed to enter this Resolution in full in the minutes of this
Council as the statement of the result of said General Municipal
Election, and partially consolidated elections, and that the City
Clerk be and he is hereby authorized and directed to perform any and
all incidental dutiesherewith as required by law.
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the City Clerk immediately make out
and deliver to each of such persons so elected a certificate of
election and that thereafter said City Clerk shall also administer
to each such person the oath of office prescribed in the State
Constitution and each of them shall then be entitled to enter upon
the duties of such offices respectively.

I HEREBY CERTIFY that the foregoing Resolution was passed and
adopted at an adjourned regular meeting of the City Council of the
Town of Los Altos Hills held on the 12th day of March, 1974.
