December 3 , 1962
The Regular Meeting of the City Council of the Town of Los Altos `Tills
was called to order by Deputy Mayor Thomas Sherlock Monday, December 3,
1962 at 7 :45 P. N. at the Town Hall, 26379 Tremont Road , Los Altos Hills ,
California.
ROLL CALL: PRESENT : Councilmen Aiken, Henley, Deputy Mayor Sherlock
ABSENT: Councilman Towle , Mayor Clayton
COMMUNICATIO^NS :
1. Santa Clara County Board of Supervisors - Letter of November 20, 1962
was a request for recommendation from the Town for appointment of lib-
rary Commissioner to fill the unexpired term of Mr. Joseph U. Stephen-
son whose resignation was effective November 13, 1962.
Councilmen concurred that the recommendation should be made by the
Mayor.
2. George S. Nolte - Letter of November 26 , 1962 requested the City Man-
ager to make request to the City of Palo Alto for sanitary sewers to
serve the Arastradero Hills Subdivision.
Referred to the Council ' s Subdivision Committee (,liken and Henley) .
ANNOUNCEMENTS:
1. Santa Clara County Boundary Commission - Notice of five (5) annexa-
tions to the City of Fountain View, designated as Jackson No. 1 ,
Church No . 10, Stierlin No. 24, Rock No . 2 and Rock No. 4.
Having no effect on the boundaries of the Town, no action was taken.
MINUTES: November 19 , 1962.
Correction: Page 1 , Heading: Change date to November 13, 1962.
ACTION:
Adopt Minutes of November 19, 1962 as corrected.

Stop Sign - Oneonta &. Stonebrook -Deferred from Meeting of Nov. 19, 1962.
':'ritten report, dated December 3 , 1962 , was submitted by Councilman
Aiken, copies of which were distributed to Councilmen.
Co ncilman Aiken summarized his report and proposed the following
action :
Stop Sign cent 'dt.
ACTION :
That two additional stop sisns be rlaced on Oneonta avd
Priscilla Lane ; that a pedestrian crossing be painted on the
road ; that a Pede tri- n crossinm sign be placed on Thu south-
bound lane of Stonebrook; that a school bus loading zone sign
be rlaced on the north bound land of Stonebrook at the inter-
section of Priscilla Lar.e .
MOTION: Aiken; SECOND : Henley; VOTE : Passed unanimously

ment for Residence Addition.
Thc Clark explained that the request is for an addition of rods and
bath over the garage of horse constructed prior to inoornorabmon of the
Town. The house is thirty; s. x feet (36 ' ) from the front proncrty line .
The Planning Commission rccosmended approval.

Revised Plan was presented by Mr. Zinser calling for a reduction to
eiahten feet (18 ' ) for a residence addition.
Councilman Henley raised the nuostion of whether to act on the variance
that is different than was presented and recommended for approval by
the Planning Commission.
Chairman Bowler stated. that he could see no objections .
ACTION :
That the request of Merle R. :Zinser (V-127-62) be approved as
revised .

The City Clerk reported That the Planning Commission recommended ap-
proval on April 21 , 1962. He stated that tne area shown as Iltet a
Fart of the Subdivision' has not been amproved as a building site.

The ngineer ' s letter of Toyer:ben 27, 1062 °tiding attention to re-
quirements outlined in his letters of Doc. 1 , 1962 and May 4, 1
- read by the City Clerk.
Letter of Doceaber 1 , 1762 was discussed with regard to forty ft. ( a0' )
easement , noted as property of Perham end questions were raised PS to
f-uture extension to Pavershury '.venue .
Conditions of the Check List were reed.
Commissioner Bower, Chairman of the Planning Comnis -ion., coarerted
that tbare should be a covenant for the maintenance t the privet..
road. hi . Nelson asked that this covenant include only the easement
along the perimeter of his Property.
LOTION :
That the Tentative Nap of H. C. Nelson (211-61) 4 lots be e -

proved , subject to conditions of the Check list ; that there be
a covenant filed for maintenance of the private road abutting
Tots No. 1 and No. 2.
