Fowle, Monday, April 18, 1960 at 7:45 P. M. at the Town Hall, 26379 M. Fremont , Los Altos Hills. ROLL CALL: PRESENT: Councilmen Clayton, Henley, Sherlock Mayor Fowle ABSENT: Councilman Bledsoe MINUTES: April 4, 1960. ACTION: Adopt Minutes of April 4, 1960 as submitted. COMMUNICATI ONS: 1. League of California Cities - Notice of the Sixth Biennial Mayors' and Councilmen's Institute to be held at Hotel Claremont, Berkeley on May 26-27, 1960. 2. County Boundary Commission - Notice of proposed annexation, to the City of Mountain View, designated as San Antonio No. 13. 3. H. E. Secrest - Letter, dated March 31, 1960, withrawing his ob- jections to the location of Lupine Lane Plan Line in relation to his property. Deferred to New Business. New Business and Old Business was deferred until the arrival of per- sons to appear for hearings. VARLNCES: 1. Parrish, N. (V-58-60) - Request for Reduction in Front Yard Set- back Requirements. ACTION: That the request of N. Parrish (V-58-60) for reduction of front yard setback be approved as recommended by the Planning Commission on .,pril 7, 1960. MOTION: Henley; SECOND: Clayton; VOTE: Passed unanimously DIVISIONS OF LAND: 1. Cooley, E. C. - Request for Waiver of Subdivision Requirements Un- der Section III, Subsection 3:40 of Ordinance No. 35. Planning Commission's recommendation for approval, April 7, 1960, was read by the Clerk. -2- Cooley Cont 'd. tir ACTION: That the request of E. C. Cooley for waiver of subdivision requirements under Section III , Subsection 3:40 of Ordinance No. 35 be aprroved, subject to the conditions of the Plan- ning Commission's recommendation of Lpril '7, 1960. MOTION: Henley; SECOND: Clayton; VOTE: Passed unanimously NW BUSINESS: 1. Discussion of Sewer District. Mr. John F. Daley, Chairman of Sanitation Committee, appointed by the Mayor, reported on the possibility of formation of a Sewer . ssessment District for the purpose of installation of sewers in the vicinity of Burke :.venue and W. Fremont .:venue. Mr. Daley explained the procedure to be followed, stating that the area would be served by the City of Los :sites. The Mayor and Councilman agreed that the Town would lend its support to�y♦T4�r. Daley and the people in the area, although the Town woulCinve jurisdiction over the assessment district. 2. Dalton, Keith - '.ppeal of Planning Commission's Denial of Lot Line Change. ACTION: That Mr. Keith Dalton's request for relocation of lot lines of Lots Nos. 4 and 23, Hillhaven Subdivision, be approved. MOTION: Clayton; SECOND: Sherlock; VOTE: Passed unanimously 3. Claitor, James D. - Request for Extension of Time for Completion improvements. Mr. Claitor was present and stated his reasons for requesting an extension of time , and agreed to post a new bond. :.CTION: That the request of James D. Claitor, for a six month exten- sion of time for completion of improvements in Stonebrook Subdivision No. 2, be granted, subject to the filing a new and sufficient bond. MOTION: Henley; SECOND: Clayton; VOTE: Passed unanimously eh. ORDINANCES: 1. Ordinance No. 63 - Amending Ordinance No. 4, Establishing the Planning Commission Membership at Seven Members. The Title of Ordinance No. 63 was read by the Clerk. -3- Ord. No. 63 cont 'd. ACTION: That further r.:^ding of Ordinance No. 63 be waived. The Mayor announced that he would adjourn the meeting to Tuesday, -April 19, 1960 at 6:0C F. M. at the Town Hall. If a quorum is not present, the meeting will then be adjourned to Tuesday, April 19, 1960 at 7:45 F. M. at the Town Hall. 2. The Mayor stated that he had rocorended to the Los :altos Fire Protection Board of Commissioners that Mr. .:rthur S. :Alter be re- appointed to the Board, to replace Mr. Harold Baxter who has re- signed. 3. League of Women Voter' s will sponsor a Panel Discussion at the Palo :Ito Community Center at 8 F. M. The Mayor suggested that some one from the Town should attend. 4. Councilman Clayton stated that his Committee had nothing to re- port on the Freeway d.;velopments at this time. 5. The Mayor stated that a Memo had been received relative to the results of a Manner's Meeting held at Stanford University. 6. Councilman Clayton Commented relative to the tresspassing of residents on public roads and rights of way when properties are disced. The Clerk was asked to notify any offenders of this vio- lation. W RRSNTS: Bills, in the amount of ;2,014.22, were presented by Councilman Clayton, ACTION: That bills be approved, in the amount of :32,014.22, and that the Clerk be authorized to draw the appropriate warrants. Report , including projection of deficiencies to 1980, was pre- sented by Mr. D. Merideth. He explained the purpose of the re- port and also how the projection was arrived at. The City Attorney stated that no action is required, because a Resolution has been passed and that a cover letter should be sufficient. The Mayor and Councilmen expressed their desire to peruse the report before submitting it to the State Division of Highways. MEETING ADJOURNED: 9:00 F.
