MINUTES OF A REGULAR ADJOURNED MEETING

The Regular Adjourned Meeting of the City Council of the Town of Los
Altos Hills was called to order by Mayor John M. Fowle , Tuesday,
April 19, 1960 at 6:40 F. M. at the Town Hall, 26379 W. Fremont Ave. ,
Los Altos Hills.
ROLL CALL: PRESENT: Councilmen Henley, Sherlock, Mayor Fowle
Councilman Clayton arrived at 6:45 P. M.
ABSENT: Councilman Bledsoe
The Council and the City Clerk canvassed the Absentee Ballots cast
for the General Municipal Election of April 12, 1960.
Total Number of Absentee Ballots Cast: 28
Number of Votes Cast for Councilman:
Albert T. Henley 17
Thomas F. Sherlock 1522
Wm. Ross Aiken
Gordon E. Bowler 2
Robert S. Doak 8

Final Results of General Municipal Election of April 12, 1960.

Resolution No. 128, declaring the results of the canvass of the pre-
cinct election returns, was read in full by the City Attorney.
ACTION:
Adopt Resolution No. 128 as read,
MOTION: Clayton; SECOND: Henley;
ROLL CALL: AYES: Clayton, Henley, Sherlock, Mayor Fowle
NOES: None
ABSENT: Bledsoe
RESOLUTION NO. 128 is attached.
The newly elected Councilman, Wm. Ross Aiken, was sworn into office
by the City Clerk.
`. Deputy Mayor Clayton moved the reappointment of Mayor John M. Fowle
for the next two year term.
Second: Henley; Vote: Passed unanimously
Councilman Henley moved the reappointment of Vice-Mayor William B. S.
Clayton for the next two year tern.
Second: Aiken; Vote : Passed unanimously
METING ADJOURNED: 7:13 P. M.
NEXT REGULAR MEETING: Monday, May 2, 1960 at 7:45 F. M. at the Town
Hall, 26379 W. Fremont Ave. , Los Altos Hills.

WHEREAS, by Resolution lo. 117, passed sad Adopted ea
the 3rd day of February, 1960, the City Ci aril called and order-
ed a General Municipal Election pursuant to Emotion 36503 of the
Oenernnent Cede of the State of California for the purpsoo of
electing three councilmen; and
WHEREAS, notice of said General Municipal Election was
duly published as required by law and by said resolution; and
WHEREAS, it appears that said General Municipal Elect-
ion was duly held in accordance with the law and said call on the
12s day of April, 1960, and that the polls for said election were
16 kept open during the time required by law, and that said election
was held and conducted, and the votes thereat received and canvass-
ed, and the returns thereof ascertained, determined and declared,
all as provided by the laws of the State of California; and
WHEREAS, the Council of the Town of Los Altos Hills has
duly convened at its usual meeting place on the 19s day of April,
1960, being the first Tuesday after the election, and has completed
a canvass of the returns of such electien; and
WHEREAS, said canvass was duly completed and the results
thereof are as hereinafter set forth; and
WHEREAS, the following persons were voted upon for .the
office of councilman,

THOMAS F. SHERLOCI
WM. ROSS AIKEN
GORDON E. BOWLER
ROBERT S. DOAK
DR. EDWARD LISTON

NOW, THEREFORE, IT IS HEREBY EEBOLVED by the City Osumi'
of the Tows of Los Altos Hills:
1. That the City Council finds and hereby ratifies and
declares the results of the General Municipal unties held ea
April 12, 1960, to be as follow:
a) That said General Municipal Eleetioa was hold sod

Clara, State of California, ea testa. April 12, 1960, is the

1. Consolidated Precinct ie. 1, esasistieg of

2. Consolidated Precinct Is. 2, consisting of
county precincts 2384, 2385, 2386 and 2388.
e) That a canvass of the votes cast is said city for
counoilaea was duly held in accordance with the order of
the City Conseil and in accordance with law.
d) That there were two consolidated precincts, number-
ed "1" and "2', and the following number of votes was cast
in oath precinct for the candidates:'

absent from their election precinct on the day of the elect-
ion secured ballots from the City Clerk, and that the City
Clerk has certified to this Council that JL of the said
absentee ballots issued by his have been cast in the time
required by law.

IT IS FURTHER RESOLVED that this. Council does declare
the following named three persons as having the highest nuabe-
of votes of each office, and as indicated by the number of
votes after their names are duly elected Councilmen of the
Town of Los Altos Hills :
Thomas F. Sherlock
Albert T. Henley
Wm. Ross Aiken
`, and that those elected were each elected for a tern of
four (4) years.
IT IS 'FCRTHER RESOLVED that the City Clerk be and he
is hereby instructed to enter this resolution in full in the
minutes of this Council as the statement of the result of
said General Municipal Election, and that the City Clerk be
and he is hereby authorised and directed to perform any and
all incidental duties herewith as required by law.
I HUM CSR?IPT that the foregoing Resolution was
adopted by the City Council of the Town of Los Altos Hills at
a meeting of said Council regularly held on the 1212 day of
April, 1960, by the following votes
