ADJOURNED P GULAR MEETING May 9, 1960 ribr The Regular Adjourned Meeting of the City Council of the Town of Los lltos Hills was called to order by Mayor John M. Fowle Monday, May 9, 1960 at 7:58 P. M. at the Town Hall, 26379 W. Fremont Avenue, Los Altos Hills. ROLL CALL: PRESENT: Councilmen Aiken, Clayton, Henley, Sherlock, Mayor Fowle ABSENT: None The Mayor announced that this is an Adjourned Regul?r Meeting, rather than a Special as the Agenda stated. MINUTES: April 19, 1960. Corrections: Page 2: Reappointment of the Mayor: ACTION was omitted, That the nomination be closed. " Reappointment of the Deputy Mayor: .ACTION was omitted, "That the nomination be closed. " April 18, 1960. Corrections: Page 3: ANNOUNCEMENTS: Item 6: Should state , "Councilman Clayton commented relative to damage to existing improve- ments in public rights of way by residents discing proper- ties, and subsequently impairing drainage. ACTION: That the Minutes of April 182 and 192, 1960 be adopted as corrected. MOTION: Sherlock; SECOND: Clayton; VOTE: Passed unanimously COMMUNICATIONS: 1. Mid-Peninsula Planners - Notice of a meeting to be held Thursday, May 12, 1960 at 1 :30 r. M. in the Stanford Planning Office. The Mayor stated that Mr. Nestor Barrett will attend, representing the Town. OLD BUSINESS: 1. Street Deficiency Report. Mr. D. Meredith, Engineer, explained the purpose of the report and how the figures, relative to road deficiencies , were computed. He further explained that the State road standards are much great- er than those of the Town which accounts for the high figure i.. relative to projected cost of roads. He stated that the roads in the Town are deficient only so far as the State is concerned. Questions and comments were heard from Councilmen, the City Attorney and Dr. Edward Liston. i Mr. Longmire, Engineer, stated that ha had reviewed the report, and also had conferred with Mr. Meredith. He stated that he is satisfied that this is a good conprehensive report. LCTION: That the Street Deficiency Report be submitted to the California Highway Commission, and that letter of disclaimer accompany the Report. MOTION: Henley; SECOND: Clayton; VOTE: Passed unanimously NEW BUSINESS: None. DIVISIONS OF LiJD: None. RESOLUTIONS: None. ORDIN,.NCES: 1. Proposed Business License Ordinance. Following discussion of proposed changes in the present Business License Ordinance, the Mayor appointed the City :.ttorney, the City Clerk, and Councilman 'iken to study the Ordinance and make recommendations relative to fees. :; Public Hearing will be held at the next meeting. WLRR NTS : Bills, in the amount of 31,954.00, were presented by Councilman Clayton. _CTION: That the bills, in the amount of "1,954.00, be approved for payment , and that the Clerk be authorized to draw the appropriate warrants.
