MINUTES OF A REGULAR ADJOURNED MEETING
May 23, 1960
The Regular Adjourned Meeting of the City Council of the Town of Los
Altos Hills was called to order by Mayor John M. Fowle Monday, May 23,
1960 at 7:52 P. M. at the Town Hall, 26379 West Fremont Avenue, Los
Altos Hills.
ROLL CALL: PRESENT: Councilmen Clayton, Henley, Mayor Fowle
Councilman Sherlock arrived at 7:55 P. M.
Councilman Aiken arrived at 8:07 P. M.
ABSENT: None
MINUTES: May 2nd and 9th, 1960.
ACTION:
Adopt Minutes of May 2nd & 9%, 1960 as submitted.
COMMUNICATIONS:
1. Inter-City Council - Notice of Meeting to be held Thursday,
June 2, 1960 at the Hawaiian Gardens Restaurant, 1500 Almaden Rd. ,
San Jose at 7:30 P. M.
Councilmen desiring to attend should notify the City Clerk.
COMMITTEE REPORTS: None.
OLD BUSINESS: None.
REV BUSINESS:
Items not on the Printed Agenda were deferred.
DIVISIONS OF LAND: Tentative Maps:
1. Stardust Heights (159-60) 6 lots. Engr. C. Coburn.
Recommendation of the Planning Commission , for approval, was read
by the City Clerk.
Councilman Sherlock arrived.
ACTION :
That the Tentative Map of Stardust Heights (159-60) 6 lots
be approved, subject to the conditions of the Planning Com-
mission, and that Lot No. 4 is also approved as a Conditional
Exception in lot width.
MOTION: Sherlock; SECOND: Henley; VOTE: Passed unanimously

The City Clerk read the Planning Commission's recommendation for

Councilman Aiken arrived.
`"' Following discussion of access to Lot Pio. 1 and non access from
Magdalena Avenue , the following action was proposed.
ACTION:
That the Tentative Map of James C. Wilson (15?-60) 3 lots be
approved, subject to access to Magdalena Avenue for all lots
from the driveway easement shown; to all other conditions
imposed by the Planning Commission, and all agencies.
MOTION: Henley; SECOND: Sherlock; VOTE: Passed unanimously
NEW BUSINESS :
1. Mary Geer and William D. Geer - Request for Extension of Time for
Filing Final Subdivision Map. _
ACTION:
That an extension of one year be granted to William D. Geer
and Mary Geer for filing Final Subdivision Map.
MOTION: Clayton; SECOND : Aiken; VOTE: Passed unanimously
2. Nathan {oblick - Request for Extension of Time for Filing Final
Subdivision Mar.
Due to the fact that no reason was given for requesting this ex-
tension, the following action was taken.
ACTION:
That the matter be tabled until the June 6M meeting.
MOTION: Henley; SECOND : Clayton; VOTE: Passed unanimously
3. Fremont Hills Development Co. - Request for Approval of Street in
r�' emont :-Tills Unit 6 (160-60).
The City Clrk explained that approval is requested by the Fremont
Hills Dev. Co. of Street "A", relative to its proximity to the pro-
posed Junipero Serra Freeway and connecting Purissima and Elena
Avenues. He read the recommendation of the Planning Commission,
approving the alignment.
Mr. William D. Coldiron was present and explained that approval
is desired, at this time, in order that the F. H. Dev. Co. may
start negotiations with the State for land within the proposed
freeway right of way. He stated that approval is requested for
that portion of Street "A" lying within the proposed right of way.

ACTION:
lbw That the Council approve the proposed STREET "A" in
Fremont Hills Unit 6 (160-60) , connecting Purissima and
Elena Avenues , as designated on Map D-1056, limited to
that section which lies within the proposed Junipero Serra
Freeway right of way, plus fifty feet (50' ) on its ex-
tremities.
MOTION: Clayton; SECOND: Sherlock; VOTE: Passed unanimousl:
4. Blue Hills Estates - Request for Acceptance of Subdivision Im-
provements.
The City Clerk and the City Engineer recommended approval,
aCTION:
That the Subdivision Improvements in Blue Hills Estates,
Tract No. 2582, be accepted, subject to the submittal of
a maintenance bond for a period of one year.
MOTION: Henley; SECOND: Sherlock; VOTE: Passed unanimously
ORDIN:uNCES:
1. Ordinance No. 64. Proposed Business License.
Amendments to Ordinance No. 64 were read by Councilman Aiken,
Chairman of Committee appointed by the Mayor to make recommenda-
tions.
Following further amendment and some deletions, the Title of
Ordinance No. 64 was road by the City Clerk.
ACTION:
That further riading of Ordinance No. 64 be waived.

ABSENT: None
The Mayor announced that a Public Hearing, on Ordinance No. 64,
will be held on June 6, 1960 at the Regular Meeting of the Council.
RESOLUTIONS:
1. Resolution No. 129 - Changing the Names of Certain City Streets.
Resolution No. 129 was read by the City Clerk in its entirety.

WARRANTS :
Bills, in the amount of x3,802.17, were presented by Councilman Clayton
ACTION:
That the bills, in the amount of ':53,802.17, be approved, and
that the Clerk be authorized to draw the appropriate warrants
for payment .

ABSENT: None
ANNOUNCEMENTS :
1. The Mayor and Councilman commended Mr. Robin D. Faisant , City
Attorney on his Summary of Remarks before the Assembly Interim
Committee on Municipal and County Government on annexation and
incorporation laws.
2. The Mayor suggested that the Town be represented at the meetings
held by the Santa Clara County Tra£ficways Committee.
3. The Payor announced that Mr. Nestor Barrett , Planning Consultant ,
is representing the Town at the Regional Planning Committee Meet-
ings, and that the next meeting will be held at the Town Hall,
Los .1.1tos Hills on Juno 23rd, at 1 :30 F. M.
