Fowle Monday, Aug- ust 29, 1960 at 7:53 P. M. at the Town Hall, 26379 W. Fremont Ave. , Los Altos Hills. ROLL CALL: PRESENT: Councilmen Liken, Clayton, Henley, Sherlock, Mayor Fowle MINUTES : August 15, 1960. ACTION: Adopt Minutes of August 15, 1960 as submitted. ANNOUNCEMENTS: 1. Inter-City Council - Notice of Meeting to be held Thursday, Sep- tember 1 , 1960 in Los Gatos . Councilmen Clayton and Sherlock will attend. 2. The Mayor announced that the Planning Commission will aoj.0:,rn to a study Session on Thurs. September 1st to study proposed amena—_ ments to the Subdivision Ordinance. He invited Councilmen to attend. COMMUNICATIONS: Mrs. E. R, Lovett - Letter,of Resignation as City treasurer. The letter was received with regret , but no action was taken. COMMITTEE REPORTS: 1. Parissima School Pathways Study - Committee. The meeting was turned over to Mr. D. W. Vought , Chairman of the Committee. Mr. Vought submitted written copies of the report , and explained charts showing the number of children expected to use the roads leading to the school. ACTION: That this matter be referred to a Study Session of the Council upon the Mayor' s calling, and action to be taken subsequent to the reconvening of meeting. 460, MOTION: Clayton; SECOND: Sherlock; VOTE: Passed unanimously Following comments from Councilmen and persons in the audience , the Mayor stated that the Council would recess for a Study Session and would subsequently reconvene to take action. NEW BUSINESS: ibr 1. Melvin L. Hawley - Planning Comr_issicn .Appointee. Oath of Office was administered by the City Clerk. 2, Clayton J. Smith - _ppointed Building Inspector. ACTION: That Clayton J. Smith be appointed Building Inspector of the Town of Los Altos Hills. MOTION: Clayton; SECOND : Sherlock; VOTE: Passed unanimously 3. Mandoli , Leo - Request for Extension of Time for Completion of Subdivision Improvements in Tract No. 2107. ACTION: That the extension of time of one year be granted, with the provision that a new bond be posted. MOTION: Henley; SECOND : Clayton; VOTE: Passed unanimously 4. Jensen & Johnston - Request for Acceptance of Subdivision Improve- ments in Lupine `.ores, Tract No. 2685. ACTION: That the improvements in Lupine Acres, Tract No. 2685, be accepted. MOTION: Henley; SECOND: Sherlock; VOTE: Passed unanimously VARI':NOES: 1. Singer,Walter (V-61-60) - Request for Reduction of Front Setback Requirement ACTION: That the request of Walter Singer (V-61-60) for reduction of front setback requirements, as recommended by the Planning Commission. on ,ug. 20, 1960, be granted. MOTION: Sherlock; SECOND: Clayton; VOTE: Passed unanimously DIVISIONS OF LAND: 1. Stardust Heights , Tract No. 1782 - Final Map. Engr. C. L. Coburn. t Noting that their was no requirement for paths , the Council dis- `, cussed the necessity of providing paths. Mr. A. C. Carmichael agreed to grade for paths. -2- Stardust Heights cont 'd. L ACTION: That the Final Map ):f 8trrdust Heights, Tract No. 1787 be approved with the provision that a graded path, but unsur- faced, be provided along the road abutting the subdivision. MOTION: Aiken; SECOND : Clayton; VOTE: Passed unanimously ORDINANCES: Ordinance No. 67 - Establishing the Office, of City Manager. The Mayor announced that the duties, as outlined in the propcsed Ordinance are the same as those now being performed by the City Clerk, The Clerk read the Title of Ordinance No. 67. ACTION: That further reading of Ordinance No. 67 be waived. MOTION: Henley; SECOND: Clayton; ROLL C'.LL: AYES: Liken, Clayton, Henley, Sherlock, Mayor Fowle NOES : None ABSENT: None The second reading of Ordinance No. 67 will be on Sept. 19th. WARRANTS: Bills, in the amount of $1365.75, wore presented by Councilman Clayton. ACTION: That the bills be approved for payment , and that the City Clerk be authorized to draw the appropriate warrants. MOTION: Clayton; SECOND: Aiken; ROLL i..:LL: AYES; Liken, Clayton, Henley, Sherlock, Mayor Fowle NOES: None ABSENT : None ANNOUNCEMENTS: 1. The Deputy Director of Civil Defense , Robin D. Paisant , commented on the facilities available in case of an emergency. 2. Councilman Henley commented that the California Water Service Co. is still waiting for action on their application for franchise. �r -3- MEETING 1DJOURNED: 9:50 P. Following discussion, the Council agreed to have the necessary paths c mst.ructed to serve children walking to the Furissima School, not to exceed the amount of 11900,.00. The meeting reconvened. ACTION: That the necessary paths be constructed to serve children walking to the Furissima School, not to exceed the amount of 11900.00.
