MINUTES OF A REGULAR MEETING
411, October 19, 1959
The Regular Meeting of the City Council of the Town of Los Altos Hills
was called to order by Mayor John M. Fowle Monday, October 19, 1959 at
7:55 P. M. at the Town Hall, 26379 West Fremont Avenue , Los Altos Hills,
ROLL CALL: PRESENT: Councilmen Bledsoe, Clayton, Henley, Sherlock

ABSENT: None
MINUTES: October 5. 1959.
ACTION:
Adopt Minutes of October 5, 1959 as submitted.
COMMUNICATIONS:
1. City of Los Altos Hills - Letter signed by Richard G. Isenberg,
Director of Recreation and Park Department requesting the Town's
participation in a recreation p-ogram with the City of Los Altos
and the Los Altos Elementary School District.
Referred to the Finance Committee.
2. George T. Hayes - Letter, dated October 122, regarding the inade-
quacy of the fence constructed along creek in Fremont Hills Unit 1,
near the Fremont Hills School.
Referred to Councilman Clayton.

NEA BUSINESS:
1. Concar Ranch & Enterprises .- Recommendation of Planning Commission.
The Clerk gave a resume of the Preliminary Discussion for a change
in zoning of the Baleri property located near the Page Mill-Arastra-
dero Roads intersection, and read the Planning Commission's recom-
mendation of September 19m, 1959, that there be no change in zoning
of the Town.
The recommendation was accepted by the Council..
2. California Water Service Co. - Request for water Franchise.
Upon the recommendation from the City Attorney, the request was
referred to a Committee for study prior to action by the Council
3. Johnson, M. R. - Request for Re-alignment of Lot Lines . Engr.
ACTION:

Mr. Gordon W. Eustice represented Mr. Burch.
The City Clerk presented the Planning Commission's recommendation
of October 1, 1959.
Letter, dated October 16, 1959 from the City Attorney, was read' .
which recommended that the map be returned to the Planning Commis-
sion for clarification of its recommendation.
ACTION:
That action on the Tentative Map of A. J. Burch (155-59) 2
lots be deferred to the next Council Meeting, Nov. 1, 1959.
MOTION: Henley; SECOND: Bledsoe; VOTE: Passed unanimously
2. Gilkey, John (153-59) 2 lots. Engr. Riley.
The Clerk read the recommendation of the Planning Commission, ap-
proving the the tentative map.
ACTION:
That the Tentative Map of John Gilkey (153-59) 2 lots be ap-
proved.
MOTION: Clayton; SECOND: Sherlock; VOTE: Passed unanimously
DIVISIONS OF LAND: (Final Maps)
1. Trumbull, Fred W. , Tract 2376. Engr. Riley.
ACTION:
That the Final Map of Fred W. Trumbull (Tract 2376) be ap-
proved.
MOTION: Henley; SECOND: Clayton; VOTE: Passed unanimously
2. Pentagon Park, Tract 25 . Engr. Nolte.
ACTION:
That the Final Map of Pentagon Park (Tract 2578) be approved.
MOTION: Henley; SECOND: Clayton; VOTE: Passed unanimously
ORDINANCES:

Ordinance No. 60 was read in its entirety by Mayor Fowle.

Comments were heard from the Floor, both for and against the Ordi-
L nance. The objection stated was relative to the problems of land-
kr scaping, and the hardship on present owners of pools. Commenting
were Mr. Bray, Mrs. Benson, Mr. Marshall, and Mrs. Lovett.
ACTION:
That Ordinance No. 60 be tabled and referred to Committee on
Public Safety.
MOTION: Clayton; SECOND: Henley; VOTE: Passed unanimously
Town Road Specifications - Presented by the City Engineer.
The Clerk stated that the Planning Commission had recommended adoption
of the Road Specifications at its meeting of October 5, 1959.
ACTION:
That the Town Road Specifications be adopted as submitted.

ANNOUNCEMENTS:
1. Mr. Frank Ainsworth commented on the article which appeared in the
Palo Alto Times October 13b regarding the City of Palo Alto's intent,
to bring a suit against Los Altos Hills with regard to the utilities
situation. He urged the Town to let them sue .

Bills were presented, in the amount of $2,207.26, by Councilman Clayton.
ACTION:
That the bills be sporoved, and that the Clerk be authorized to
draw the appropriate ws.r.rants.
