The Regular Meeting of the City Council of the Town of Los sltos
Hills was called to order Monday, Decerber 21, 1959 at 7:50 P. M. by
Mayor John M. Fowle at the Town Hall, 26379 '•1. Fremont ..venue , Los
Altos Hills.

ACTION:
Ldopt Minutes of Dec. 2nd, 3rd, t 7th, 1959 as submitted.
COrrUNICLTIONS:
1. Santa Clara County Boundary Cor_^_ission - Notice of proposed an-
nexations , designated as : aright Fo. 5, to the City of Mountain
View, La Donna Well Site and ratadero Well Site, to the City of
Palo ',lto.

:.NNOUNCEr NTS:
1. The City Clerk announced that the proposed annexation nap. San
atonio Hills No. 1-A, to the Town of Los ; ltos Hills, was accept-
ed by the Boundary Commission as accurate and definite.
COMNTTTEE REPORTS:
1. Finance Cor_.ittee - Children and Youth Survey.
Councilman Clayton, Chairr_sn, requested that this report be de-
ferred.
OLD BUSINESS:
1. 'dater Service Report - City Engineer.
Councilman Henley, Chairrrn of the Committee, asked that the report
be deferred for two neetings.
?TEU BUSINESS:
1. Palo '.lto Hills, Tract 2613 - Request for 1pproval of Road Con-
struction within Town Limits. Dan. Dana, Developer.
`" Commissioner William, Chairman of the Planning Commission, report-
. ed that the Planning Corrittee will study the traffic circulation,
relative to Page Till Road.

The City Engineer reported that the irproverent plan for road
construction and drainage is satisfactory as submitted.
Lfter discussion, it was the consensus of the Council that Mr.
Dana could proceed with prelirinary grading of the road. The
Mayor will inf;rr. hir, :nd also that the Planning Connission's
recorrendation has been restpcned.
DIVISIONS OF LAND:
1. Spain, Orar F. , Tract 2585. Final Map - Encr. Riley.
The Clerk rerorted that the fee for inprovenent of W. Fremont, da
ting the property, has been paid.
CTION:
That the Final Map of Orar N. Spain, Tract TTo. 2585, be
approved.
MOTION: Sherlock; SECOND: Clayton; VOTE: Passed unaninously
2. Gilkey, John, Tract No. 2639. `. ngr. Riley.

That the Final Map of John Gilkey, Tract No. 2639, be approved
MOTION: Clayton; SECOND: Henley; VOTE: Passed unanimously
'.ction on Lupine Acres, Tract No. 2685, was postponed.
ORDIN'',NCES:
1. ',ntisolicitation Ordinance - Draft was presented by the City
'.ttorney.
.1ction was deferred in order for Councilmen to study the proposed
draft.
2. Or inance No. 62 - :n_endrent to Section 41, Subsection 41:10 of
rdinance iA.o. , relative to the requirerent of filing an in-
surance bond by utilities holding valid franchises , such as
Pacific Gas E. Electric Co. and Pacific Telegraph & Telephone Co.
The first reading was deferred until the next neeting.

Bills were presented, by Councilr. an Clayton, totalling 310,418.50.
LCTION:
That bills, in the amount of 110,418.50, be epproved for payment;
that the Clerk be authorized to draw the appropriate warrants.

2. Manuella and West Fremont :.venues Intersection.
Letter, subritted by Mrs. William G. Pierce and signed by nine
other persons, dated Dec. 21, 1959, was read, said letter regard-
ing an accident occurring at the ranuella-West Fremont intersection
The mayor stated that he had received several calls following; the
accident, requesting the Town to take action in having the corner
patrolled in an effort to enforce the speed linit and reduce the
nurber of traffic violations. He stated that the shrubbery h-d
been trimmed to give getter vision for traffic approaching West
Freront from. Pianuella
The City Clerk reported on the esti -rated cost to lower the grade
on W. Fremont and raise the grade of Manuella, explaining dia-
grams of the proposed plan.
Following discussion of what would be involved, the following
action was taken:
;_CTION:
That this natter be referred to the Road Commissioner, to be
Placed on a priority list of correction of dangerous and
hazardous intersections that exist on Town roads.
MOTION: Clayton; SECOND: Henley; VOTE: Passed unanimously
Letter, dated Dec. 21, 1959, from the Chief of Police, was read.
The letter was relative to why the Sheriff's Dep
arrive at the scene of the accident for thirty minutes.
:SINOUNCEMENTS:
1. Commissioner Williams stated that the Planning Commission has
adopted a Resolution setting the date and tine for a public hear-
ing on the Lupine Road Flan Line--Thursday, January 7th, 1960 at
0:00 P. M. at the Town Hall.
MEETING IDJOURNED: 9:05 P. M.
