MINUTES OF A REGULAR MEETING
January 3, 1963
The Regular Meeting of the Planning Commission of the Town of Ios Altos
Hills was called to order "'hursday, January 3, 1963 by Chairman Gordon E.
Bowler at 7:45 F. M. at the Tonin ,call, 26379 Fremont Road, los Altos Hills,
California.
ROLL CALL: FRESEF'T: Commissioners Alter, Hawley, Hibner, Mellquest,
Chairman Bowler; Commissioner Garbett arrived 7:51 FM.

1. WooA=ide Oaks Construction Co. (V`133-62) - Re^,uest for Reduction of
Satba:e Requirement for Garage.
Chairman Bowler stated that the request 'is for reduction to eishteen
feet (181) Cron_, the easterly side line. He reported that notice was
mailed to property owners within the 300' radius of the property; that
none of persons have signed the statement indicating they have no ob-
jection to Che variance.
Mr. L. Schwab, applicant, stated that he has a signed statement from

Mr. & Mrs. 3. T. Russell, the nearest property owners who would be
affected by the reducti`n in setback recuirement.
Commissioner Hibner reported that the concrete slab for the garage
'cad already been poured and questioned why this was done.
Mr. Schroiab stated that his contractor was unaware of the setback re-
quirement at the time, but that the slab has been removed.
heuilding_ Inspector renorted that the aprlicant had been Lnstraeted
not to h=_ve the slab poured and that he had squired him to have the
slab removed.

The Chairman reported that the request is for reduction to fifty-one
feet (51') from a secor_dary street, and stated that the adjoining
property owners have all signed as approving the variance.

Dr. 1 P. Opie stated that he was in favor o£ the Church site-ithut;h
it might cost the Town more in taxes.
Pir.John Lehman commented that he would be in favor of small rural type
churches on small sites within walking distances from the members hom::s,
but would not like to sae large m3trorol4tan type churches in this rurca
c ommuni t"'.

that the land would be remove-] from the tax roll and additional traffic

Richard S. 'Lawson, Mrs. Edith I?illiams, Pers. George G. Cowie, ir. Casey
Jones, yr. Kenneth Young, CIF. Constance Hunter, yr. M. Civer, Fr. died
Strassman, T'r. Laurence- Dawson. They were in favor of supporting the
Master Flan as it now stands.
