December 15, 1958
The meeting of the City Council of the Tofu of Los Altos Hills was
called to order by Mayor John M. Fowle llonday, December 152, 1958 at
7:50 F. M. at the Town fall, 263?9 gest Fremont Avenue; Los Altos.Hills.

Adopt minutes of December 1st, 1958 as cor-

is used.
Deferred for further discussion.
2. CCnia Disaster, Office, ReEion 2 - Ietter, dated December 41
and signed by 41111am W."ard, _Regional Coordinater, announced
a meeting to be held December 182, 1958 at 1:00 P. M. in the San
Francisco health Department Building Auditorium, 101 Grove Street,
San Francisco. The rearrangement of the Bay Area Conelrad System
will be the topic of discussion. The letter, addressed to the
Mayor, requested his attendance.
Deferred for further discussion.
3. Dr. Harold J. Beaver - Fetter, dated December 50, 1958, was regard -
ng spied m on 1rastradero Road.
Deferred to Old Business.
*4w 4. Gardner Bullis - letter, dated December 82, 1958, regarding Fink
ors Ranch Subdivision Off -tract Road improvements and Minutes of
November 17, 1958.
The Mayor stated that, with the approval of the Council, he would
reply to Mr. Bullis' letter.

5• Count Boundar Commission - Letter, dated December 11, 1958 as -a
nounce a proposed annexation of the area designated as McClellan
No. 1 to the City of Cupertino.
Filed.
CLD BUSINESS:
1. ag2ed Limit on irastradero Road - Letter from Dr. Beaver requested
reduction of the speed limit and the correction of a dangerous
curve on .Airastradero Road near the Fremont Hills property.
The City Clerk stated that he had requested Dr. Beaver and other
residents to write letters relative to the reduction of the speed
limit.
Following discussion, the Mayor stated that he would write to
Mr. Hubbard requesting a reduction of the speed limit.
2. Budget d Fin ce Committee - Report on Budget (Ending 'first Four-
Yonth Feriod of FiscalYear 1958-59).
The Report was submitted by Councilman Treat and was discussed by
the Council.
It was decided that a report shall be given at the end of six
months and at quarterly intervals.
DIVISIONS OF L4ND:
1. TentAtive Maps:
a) Tremont Hills Unit #5 (91-57) 52 lots. Engr. L. G. Brian.
Mr. John Riley, Engineer, and Mr. William D. Coldiron were
present.
The City Clerk read the recommendation of the Planning Com-
mission, and stated that the map complied with all conditions.
ACTION:
That the tentative map of Fremont Hills Unit ;'5 (91-57) 52
lots, be approved.
MOTION: Sherlock; SECOND: Treat; VOTE: Fassed unanimously

improvemen-cs tieing done by the Fremont :sills Company. He
stated that they are behind schedule due to difficulties with
contractors, buz proggress is being made. He felt that the work
should be complexed in a very short -time.

There was no representative present.
The City Clerk read the recommendation of the Planning Commis-
sion, and stated that approval had been granted by the City

.Engineer. Conditional approval, relative to access, was given
by the '.'ire District, specifically, that access to lots 1 and 2
must be gained from E1 11onte _nvenue before any building permits
may be issued,
Yo one was present from the Planning Commission to answer
questions regarding access.
ACTION:
That the tentative map of Colin Peters (1.28-58) 2 lots be
referred back to the Planning Commission, with the request
that they show why access can not be had from rl Monte by
a piece being carved out of Lots #5 and #l, using the ex-
isting 28' easement on the Fdson lot, thus complying witli
the Fire District's request.
MOTION: Treat; SECOND: Bledsoe; VOTE: Passed unanimously
The Mayor stated that he had recommended to the Planning; Com-
mission that it consider Ordinances relative to street traffic
signs in subdivisions and prohibiting parking on public streets
within the Town.
WARRANTS:
Bills were presented by Councilman Treat in the amount of 1414,20..
ACTION:
That bills in the amount of X6,414..20 be approved for payment,
and that the City Clerk be authorized to draw the appropriate
warrants.

3, State Gas Tax - Discussion was held regarding the League of Cali-
orrn a�Ci.ties proposal for an increase of one cent to be paid to
cities.

4. Santa Clara County Flood +'Jontrol District - Deferred from Commun
ications,
The Mayor suggested tha+ the City -engineer check areas in the Town
which should be consV-Lered in the 1959-60 program by the Flood
Control District. Areas mentioned were Dry Creek (near Old Trace
Hoad), Magdalena A! -,,'f --nue, ?dry Gulch, Matadero, and Adobe Creeks.
5. Ordinances The City Attorney reported that he is reviewing and
revising some of the Ordinances of the Town and will have drafts
to present in January.
