Treat at 7:45 P.M. at the Town Hall, 26379 West Fremont, Los Altos Hills. ROLL CALL: PRESENT: Mayor Treat, Councilmen Bledsoe, Hoefler, Rothwell. ABSENT: Councilman Fowle. MINUTES: June 17, 1 • Following corrections to the minutes: Page 3, Item #3: delete 'deleted' and correct sentence to read: 'Upon the request of Mr. Monahan, this appeal was de- ferred from the agenda'. Page 3, Item ##4: insert 'Jack H.' and correct sentence to read: 'Mr. Jack H. Hall requested that the City Council consider the abandonment of a portion of Robleda Avenue ' . ACTION: Adopt the minutes of June 17, 1957, as corrected. Motion: Mayor Treat; Second: Hoefler; Vote: Passed. NEW BUSINESS: 1. James G. and Marjorie L. Inness. Grant deeds for dedication of James G. and Marjorie L. Inness to be accepted. Motion: Hoefler; Second: Rothwell; Vote: Passed ROLL CALL: AYES: Mayor Troat, Rothwell, Hoefler, Bledsoe. NOES: None. ABSENT: Councilman Fowle. 2. 3• - 2 - Budget - 1957-58. Councilman Rothwell discussed the budget but lacking complete figures of assessed valuation the matter will be brought up at a future date as soon as figures are avail- able from the assessor. Destroying of Road Signs. Councilman Rothwell expressed concern in regard to the shooting of holes into the 'Anti -Litter' sign on rage Mill Road and suggested that the Council consider the passing of a Fire Arms Ordinance. After discussion, Mayor Treat agreed to take the matter up with County Sheriff, Melvin Hawley. 4. Discussion of Improvement to South E1 Monte and Formation of An Assessment District. The following people spoke: Mrs. Hugh Monahan, Attorney Myers, Fred Gutt and Councilman Hoefler. Councilmen Hoefler stated that there are many contributing requirements for the development of any land and that it is up to the developers to put in roads, furnish water, utilities, etc. and to ask the taxpayers to take care of it is an injustice. Attorney Myers again appeared in behalf of Lloyd Copenhaver and asked the Council for immediate action on S. E1 Monte. He was informed that the Council was not ready to take action at the present time. 5. Reappointment of Mr. Richard Dawson to Planning Commission. Accept the reappointment of Richard Dawson to the Planning Commission to serve until expiration of his original term retroactive - June 6, 1957• ACTION: Motion: Mayor Treat; Second: Hoefler; Vote: Passed ROLL CALL: AYES: Mayor Treat, Bledsoe, Hoefler, Rothwell. NOES: None ABSENT: Councilman Fowle. Em -3- CORREGFONDENCE: Los Al_ tos City LibSunned: , Library - Ma or Atkinson. A letter was received in regard to the cost of operating the Los Altos City Library, the cost of which is roughly $3500.00 per year and Los Altos Hills' share which will be approximately 14.8%. This matter was referred to Councilman Rothwell of the Finance Committee. Mayor Treat announced that there will be a Study Session on Ordinance #35 on Thursday, June 27, 1957 - 8:00 P.M. at the Town Hall. MEETING ADJOURNED: 9:20 P.M.
