TOWN OF LOS ALTOS HILLS
MINUTES OF ADJOURNED MEETING
NOVEMBER 21, 1956
The meeting was called to order at 7:45 P. M., Wednesday,
at Purissima School.
ROLL CALL: Present - Councilmen Dungan, Fowle, Rothwell,
Mayor Treat
Absent - Councilman Bledsoe
MINUTES: Not read
The city clerk read a letter from the California State Auto-
mobile Association regarding road signs. Councilman Rothwell
suggested posting of weight limit signs. The council then
entrusted Mayor Treat, City Clerk Paulman, Chief of Police
McKenna and Road Commissioner Hibner to take immediate action
to get the signs installed.
ROAD SIGNS
The council discussed the appointment of a building inspector. BU ILD ING INSPECTOR
Mayor Treat authorized the Finance Committee, consisting of
Councilmen Rothwell and Fowle, to further investigate the
matter of fees and salary, and will be considered at a later
date.
The city Clerk reported that enough additional names have
been validated to qualify the petition.
RESOLUTION N0. 33 was presented and read, was moved by
Councilman Dungan and seconded by Councilman Fowle that
the council reaffirm its belief in Ordinance No. 19 and
set January 22, 1957, as the date of the Referendum Elec-
tion. after discussion, was carried by the following vote:
AYES: Councilmen Dungan, Fowle, Rothwell,
Mayor Treat
NOES: None
ABSENT: Councilman Bledsoe

The proposed amendments to Ordinance No. 17 were dis- AMENDMENTS TO

submitted to the Truck Route Committee for further study.
The problem of weight and length limits was discussed.
Mrs. Wood objected strongly to the proposal of increas-
ing the 12 -ton limit to 14 tons.
After a long and confusing discussion of the problem
of amendments, the matter was referred back to the Truck
Route Committee for further study and consideration until
the next meeting.
Councilman Rothwell presented and read a letter from

the traffic problems on private roads and was referred
to the city attorney.

ORDINANCE NO. 26 on Civil Defense was presented for the

first reading. It was moved by Councilman Rothwell,

reading of the ordinance beyond the title be waived.
The Name Change Commitee had no report to make at this
time.

There being no further business, the meeting was adjourned
at 9:30 P. M. (Nett meeting - Saturday, Dec. 1, 195 ,a :30 A. M.)
