MINUTES OF REGULAR MEETING
OCTOBER 6, 1956
The meeting was called to order at 9:45 A. M., Saturday,
at Purissima School,
ROLL CALL: Present - Councilmen Bledsoe, Dungan, Fowles
Rothwell, Mayor Treat
Absent - None
MINUTES:: The minutes of the previous meetings were
approved as corrected.
The absentee ballots were ordered counted with the
following results:
Total absentbe ballots - 10

Results of the October 2, 1956, election:

RESOLUTION No. 32 was read in its entirety by the city RES. #32

It was moved by Councilman Bledsoe, seconded by Council -

man Dungan that the mayor be authorized to sign the
agreement with the county to collect sales tax.
A letter from the Hospital Committee was read by the RFS' �- tLT I 0A1
city clerk asking for adoption of Resolution No. 31. N�
It was moved by Mayor Treat, seconded by Councilman
Dungan that the resolution be adopted,eliminating the
last paragraph, and was passed by the following vote:
AYES: Councilmen Bledsoe, Dungan, Fowles,
Rothwell, Mayor Treat

ORDINANCE NO. 20 was presented for the first reading. ORD. #20 REGU-

A report was made by Mayor Treat on the repair of $800.00 BUDGET
Stonebrook Avenue. It was moved by Councilman REPAIR OF

the budgeting of $800,00 for this project. Carried
unanimously.
Councilman Dungan advised that he had no report to make TOWN HALL
on the Town Hall as they have had no formal meeting. COMMITTEE
A map of the Hobe Development Company was approved by
voice vote.
City Engineer McCondless was asked to investigate
back fills on ditches of the water mains now being
installed on city streets.
Mayor Treat advised that a committee is to work
on amendments of Ordinance No. 19 to take care of
inequity against citizens affect d. Mayor Treat
appointed Councilmen Rothwell and Fowls to this
committee. Councilman Fowls asked that a report
be made in regard to trucks with supplies going
through the Town.
Councilman Dungan asked that the mayor be granted the

privilege of appointing special committees without the
approval of the council.
Bills amounting to $656.28 were approved and ordered BILLS
paid,
A report was made by Mayor Treat on a Traffic Meeting
with Chief of Police McKenna and stated that a State
Engineer will be here on Monday, October 8, 1956, a
3a ter report will be made.
Councilman Rothwell suggested that"ao littering" signs
be installed to stop the throwing of rubbish along the
highway. He also suggested that the council and com-
mittee discuss the name of "Los Altos Hills" and the
question be settled at the meat meeting.
It was suggested by Mayor Treat that the council con-
sider regular evening meetings instead of Saturday
meetings. Councilman Dungan is to investigate regard-
ing the change.
The meeting was adjourned until 7:45 P. M., Monday,
October 159 1956, at Purissima School.
