HomeMy WebLinkAbout8/30/1956CITY COUNCIL TOWN OF LOS ALTOS HILLS MINUTES OF ADJOURNED MEETING AUGUST 309 1956 The meeting was called to order at 7:45 P. M., Thursday, at Purissima School. ROLL CALL: Present - Councilmen Bledsoe, Rothwell, Mayor Treat Absent - Councilmen Dungan, Fowle The Mayor informed the council that they had no control Purissima of the placing of the water mains, but that the Water Water District District Faust pit the roads back in the same condition in which they were. `'err► Mayort s conference letter - August 23, 1956. It was moved by Councilman Rothwell, seconded by Councilman Bledsoe and carried unanimously that Mayor Treat appoint a committee to represent the Town of Los Altos Hills. This will be done at a later date. A letter addressed to the Taxpayers and Citizens of Los Altos Hills was placed on file. The offer referred to the Truck Route Committee. < The second reading of Ordinance No. 23 was postponed until a future meeting. Mr. Koehn questioned the $500.00 budgeted fdr the election, and Mr. Caldwell questioned the $1800.00 budgeted for road inspection. These questions were explained by Councilman Rothwell. Mrs. True questioned Attorney Bullis what constituted an offer which was answered by Attorney Bullis. Mr. George Neary advised that he would make -a. legal offer if a truck route is established. San Francisco Bay Area Rapid Transit District Mr. Koehnts report on offer by Neary Quarry Ord. No. 23 Sales and Use Tax Budget Discussion Attorney Bullis advised Mr. Neary that if he made an offer, the council could not accept it until it was established that it was legal to do so. Col. Ells- worth spoke regarding the acceptance of an offer by the quarry peoples and was informed by Attorney Bullis that no legal offer has ever been received by the City Council. Bills amounting to $618.27 were authorized on motion of Councilman Rothwell, seconded by Councilman Bledsoe and carried unanimously. Ordinance No. 24 relating to disbandment of San Antonio R®ad was read in its entirety for the first time and was referred to the City Attorney and Planning Commission.
