TOWN OF LOS ALTOS HILLS
MINUTES OF REGULAR MEETING
AUGUST 4, 1956
The meeting was called to order by the Mayor at 9..30 A. M.
Saturday, at Purissima School.
ROLL CALL: Present: Councilmen Bledsoe, Dungan, Rothwell
and Mayor Treat
Absent: Councilman Fowle

as election officials. It was moved by Councilman Rothwell
and seconded by Councilman Dungan that the city clerk be
instructed to set up the procedure for a special election
on October 2, 1956, from 7 A. M. to 7 P. M., for submission
to voters of the Town of Los Altos Hills the matter of the
referendum petition of Ordinance No. 17; that the notice of
election be posted; that there be one consolidated Precinct
to embrace all the area of the Town of Los Altos Hills and
that the following place be the City Hall of the Town of
Election
Los Altos Hills being the so-called Purissima School build-
ing on Robleda Avenue near Purissima in said City and that
the election officials as named by the city clerk be rati-
fied and approved. Carried unanimously.
Councilman Rothwell reported that the budget on expendi- Budget
tures and income was not ready for submission, and that
a meeting was scheduled as soon as Treasurer Lovett and
Councilman Fowle returned.
There was no report from the Purissima Water District.
A letter from City Attorney Bullis on the trubk ordinance
was read and placed on file.
City Engineer McCandless reported that the investigation Truck
of State Engineer Ives had not been thoroughly digested Routes
and will meet with other committee men on August 6th.
Councilman Dungan reported that Architect William Simrell Building
will have plans and specifications on August 6th and also Committee
that he has had numerous requests for helping on the build-
ing of the city hall.
City Attorney Bullis asked the council to set a date for
%W a public hearing. The council decided to hold a public
hearing on August 22, 1956.
Mr. Russell Walton representing the Citizens Committee Truckers
read and discussed a pledge signed by the truckers and and
the quarries wherein they pledged to police themselves tLs Quarries
to safety and speed.
Bills amounting to $456.63 was presented and upon motion Bills
of Councilman Bledsoe, seconded by Councilman Rothwell,
was passed unanimously for payment.
Chief of &lice McKenna repay ted that the sheriff is now Patroling
patroling the roadsof the Town of Los Altos Hills on an by the
average of three (3) hours a week. County
It was agreed that the request of the Whitmyer Company Signs
for two (2) directional signs be referred to the Planning
Commission.
A used permit requested by Mr. and Mrs. Baumer to operate Nursery
a nursery school, upon motion of Councilman Dungan and School
seconded by Councilman Bledsoe, was granted and carried Permit
unanimously.

Mayor Treat advised that he will report on the numbering
of houses at the next meeting.
A letter from the Flood Control District for council
attendance was read and placed on file.
Subdivision Ordinance No. 19 was presented by Councilman
Dungan for a first reading. It was moved by Councilman
Bledsoe, secrnded by Councilman Rothwell that Ordinance
No. 19 be read by title only and was passed by the follow-
ing vote:
AYES: Councilmen Bledsoe, Dungan, Rothwell
and Mayor Treat
NOES: None
ABSENT: Councilman F'owle
The meeting was adjourned by Mayor,Treat until 7:45 P. M.,
Tuesday, August 149 1956, at Purissima School.
