TOWN OF LOS ALTOS HILLS, CALIFORNIA
JUNE 7, 1956
An adjourned regular meeting of the City Council was
called to order at 7:45 P. M., June 7, 1956, at Purissima School.
The following councilmen were present upon roll call: Bledsoe,
Dungan, Rothwell and Treat; absent, Fowle,
Mayor Treat read portions of Ordinance No. 17 which was
followed by a general discussion of each item.
Chief of Police McKenna suggested posting signs on
curves stating speed limits.
Councilman Dungan explained axle and wheel loading and
gross loading. After considerable discussion, it was �R�O
by Councilman Rothwell that the council enact Ordinance No. 17
as written and after it is passed investigate which of our roadj`�
are truck roads and which are not. It was moved by Councilman lll't
Bledsoe, seconded b Coun ilman Dungan that the reading of the
full ordinance beV� by title only and -carried by the following
vote:
AYES: Bledsoe, Dungan, Rothwell and Treat
NOES: None
ABSENT: Fowle
A motion was made by Councilman Rothwell, seconded by
Councilman Bledsoe to establish a committee consisting of the
City Engineer, the Road Commissioner, Councilman Dungan and
Mayor Treat, ex -officio, to explore all questions concerning
the feasibility and desirability of establishing truck routes
in the Town of Los Altos Hills and if all factors affecting the
nature and use of such routes if they are deemed feasible and
desirable. Motion carried unanimously.
Mr.�Don Hibner of the Road Commission explained the
report presented by Road Commissioner Macabee. Mr. Hibner and
Mr. Gardiner recommended that the Council decide in about ten
days what they want to do regarding road maintenance. Mr. Brill,
a private contractor, explained to the Council what he would do
if awarded a contract. The Council will study the report and
decide at a future meeting.
Chief of Riice McKenna advised that a meeting would
be held at Mariana+s on Thursday, June 14th, with Mr. Bullis,
8horiff Hawley and County Administrator Thill to set up the
police contract.
A motion was
made
by
Councilman
Bledsoe
and seconded
by Councilman Rothwell
that
the
bills for
$230.49
as presented be
approved and checks drawn for the several mounts. Motion carried.
The meeting was adjourned by Mayor Treat to Wednesday,
June 13, 1956, 7:45 P. M., at Purissima
