MINUTES OF THE COUNCIL MEETING
OF
TOWN OF LOS AL TOS HILLS, CALIFORNIA
MAY 23, 1956
An adjourned regular meeting of the City Council was
called to order at 7:45 P. M., May 23, 1956, at Purissima School.
The following councilmen were present upon roll call: Bledsoe,
Dungan and Fowle; absent, Rothwell and Treat.
There was a report by Acting Mayor Dungan on Rapid
Transit Company coming down the Peninsula.
There was a report from Mr. Macabee on Moody Road.
A quarry on Central Avenue having recently been opened, sad
15 to 20 trucks per hour hauling 20 tons or more over this road
in just a short time will demolish it. Mr. Macabee recomended
that an ordinance be drawn up for a 5 -ton minimum load and a
fine license for overload and a license fee of the quarry of
One Hundred Dollars ($100). per year.
Mr. Richard Bullis of the Planning Commission explained
that the Planning Commission feels that the operation of the
Central Avenue qp arry is a non -conforming use. A proposed ordi-
nance was read by City Attorney Bullis,who recommended 10,000-1b,
gross vehicle load, and also recommended a thorough study be
made before any passage.
Chief of Police McKenna was asked to secure road signs
from the A. A. A. unc�Or\,Ql%4 ,soncle'�jd,.
A motion was made by Councilman Fowle and seconded by
Councilman Bledsoe that the meeting be adjourned until Friday,
May 25, 1956, at M5 45 P . M,,, and City Clerk P aulman was in-
structed to notify the council members if Councilman Rothwell
was unable to be present and adjourn the meeting to Mey 28th
at 7:45 P. M. at Purissima Schools
