HomeMy WebLinkAbout5/21/1956MINUTES OF THE COUNCIL MEETING OF TOWN OF LOS ALTOS HILLS, CALIFORNIA MAY 219 1956 An adjourned regular meeting of the City Council was called to order at 7:45 P. M., May 21, 1956, at Purissima School. The followingcouncilmen were present upon roll call: Bledsoe, Dungan, Fowle and Rothwell; absent, Treat. Chief of Police McKenna advised that the contract with the sheriff for policing will be presented at the neat meeting. He also reper ted that State Engineer James Hymen will come to Los Altos Hills the first week in June to reeommend speed limits and stop signs. ORDINANCE NO. 15 was referred to the attorney for alteration. irr" " aA4"1_0) The balance of the meeting was devoted to a study session, the subject being a road contract with Santa Clara County. Present were Mr. Maeabee, Road Commissioner, Mr. Don Hibner and Mr. Rea Gardiner. After considerable discussion, it was recommended that the Town of Los Altos Hills do their own repair work and contract new construction. This committee was asked by the Council to check with Atherton and Campbell as to cost per mile, how many men are employed, how much equip- ment, how much rental equipment, if any, what the amount of rental will be and to report back at the next meeting. It was called to the attention of the Council that a quarry was being operated on Central Avenue, sad that the heavy trucks are destroying the pavement on Moody Road. At- torney Bullis was instructed by the Council to see what can be done to stop -operating this quarry and to report back at the neat meeting. It was moved by Councilman Rothwell and seconded by Councilman Fowle that the meeting be adjourned until May 23, 1956, Wednesday, 7:45 P.
