A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE TOWN OF
LOS ALTOS HILLS,AMENDING POSITION CLASSIFICATION
PLAN
THE CITY COUNCIL.OF THE TOWN OF LOS ALTOS HILLS HEREBY RESOLVES
THAT:
The "Position Classification Plan" for employees of the Town of
Los Altos Hills is hereby amended by adding the position of
"CODE ENFORCEMENT OFFICER". Said job description for the "Code
Enforcement Officer" is attached hereto and incorporated by reference.

I HEREBY CERTIFY That the foregoing resolution was passed and
adopted at a regular meeting of the City, Council of the Town of
Los Altos Hills on November 18, 1968 by the following roll call vote:

JOB DESCRIPTION.. -
":CODE ENFORCEMENT OFFICER"
NATURE OF WORK
This is general ,inspection work involving the enforcement of City
Ordinances. .
Work of this class involves responsibility for the performance) accord-
ing to regulations and procedures prescribed by the City Manager, of
routine inspection and enforcement activities. The work requires that
an employee must be able to exercise sound judgment( independently in
most situations. All assignments in this class involve responsibility
for recognizing the importance of inspectionfunctions, for tactful and
courteous treatment of the public, and for conscientious and efficient
performance of duties under little direct supervision. Work is reviewed
by the City Manager through personal inspection, review of, reports and,
through general appraisal of. the inspection service. Examples of won :
This employee will patrol the entire Town in a city-owned vehicle,
with the purpose of inspecting grading violations and the conduct
of business without appropriate licenses and permits. This will
involve communication with the public, contractors, and visitors
tothe, community.
This employee will report any infractions of the City Ordinances
through the use of, a two-way radio system. In the case of 'an
infraction of the law or in an emergency situation, the Town Hall
will relay communications to the County. Sheriff's Department.
Performs" related work' as required.
KNOWLEDGE, ABILITIES AND SKILLS
Ability to cope with situations firmly, courteously and tactfully, and
with respect for the rights of others..
Ability to analyze situations quickly and objectively and to determine the
proper course of action to be 'taken.
Ability to understand and carry out oral and written instructions.
Ability to write and speak effectively.
Good, general intelligence and emotional stability.
DESIRABLE .EXPERIENCE AND. TRAINING
Experience in work involving public contact, which will' have contributed
to the development of seasoned and mature judgment.
Graduation from a standard high school.
