A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE TOWN OF
LOS ALTOS HILLS AMENDING POSITIONCLASSIFICATION
PLAN •
THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE TOWN OF LOS ALTOS HILLS HEREBY
RESOLVES THAT:
The "Position Classification Plan" for employees of the
Town of Los Altos Hills is hereby amended by deleting the
position of "City Clerk" and creating the position of "City
Clerk-Treasurer". Said job description for the "City Clerk-
Treasurer" position is attached hereto and incorporated by reference.
I hereby certify that the foregoing resolution was passed .
and adopted, at a regular adjourned meeting of the City Council
of the Town of los Altos Hills on January 2, 1968 by the following
roll call vote: ' '

• NATURE OF WORK
This is administrative work in directing,;,financial activities and in
preparing for and officially reporting actions "of the City Council.
Work of this class involves responsibility for financial planning,
accounting, revenue administration, treasury management, and the coordination
of these functions with the activities of :the various city departments.
Although emphasis is given to formulation of plicy, staff limitations dictate
participation in numerous detailed activities. Responsibilities extend to
preparing for meetings of the City Council by organizing reports and infOrrma-
tion basic to council action and officially recording actions taken at such
meetings. Both major aspects of this work necessitate many contacts with the
public on matters requiring the attention both of the Council and City Manager.
Work is performed under the direction of the City '.'anager. Work-•is reviewed
by general observation of results obtained and effectiveness in dealings with
the public.
EXAMPLES OF WORK
Supervises and participates in the planning, organizing and maintenance of
a central accounting system, including the recording of expenditures, revenue
accounting, and other financial controls.
Supervises and participates in the preparation of statements and reports
of city financial affairs to administrativeofficials, City Council, the
general public.
III Prepares materials for City Council, ailiembles information about and
presents applications for a variety of permits; prepares tentative and final '
agenda for Council meetings; attends Council'' reetings; maintains minutes of
meetings and prepares summary for official publications.; maintains files..of
ordinances and resolutions.
Supervises and participates in preparation for elections by development ---•:e
of calendars, registration, procurement of judges, clerks, and polling;1places_, '
printing of ballots, and related matters pertaining to election procedures.

DESIRABLE EXPERIENCE AND TRAINING
Considerable progressively responsible experience in government
accounting and auditing.
Graduation from college with major course work in public and business
administration preferably with emphasis upon public finance administration;
or an equivalent combination of experience and training°
