A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE TOWN OF LOS
ALTOS HILLSDECLARING THE RESULT. OF THE CANVASS OF
THEPRECINCT ELECTION RETURNS OF -THE- SPECIAL MUNI-
CIPAL ELECTION HELD ON APRIL 11, 1967.
WHEREAS, by Resolution duly passed and adopted the City
Council..of the Town of Los Altos Hills called andordered a
Special Municipal Election for the purpose of electing one,
councilman to fill the unexpired term of Councilman Gordon
Bowler, and
WHEREAS, notice of said Special Municipal Election was
duly: published as requiredby law and by said Resolution,
and
WHEREAS, it appears that said Special Municipal Election
was duly held in accordance with law and said call on the 11th '
day of April, 1967, and the polls for said election were kept .
open during the time required by law, and that said election
was held and conducted, and the votes thereat received and
canvassed, and the returns thereof.`ascertain, determined and
declared, all as provided by the laws of the State of Califor-
nia, and
WHEREAS, the City Council of the Town of Los Altos Hills
has duly convened at its usual meeting place on the 18th day
of April, 1967, being the first Tuesday after the election
and hasreceived from the City Clerk a canvass of the returns
of such election, and
WHEREAS, said canvass was duly completed and the results
thereof are ashereinafter set forth, and
WHEREAS, the following persons were voted upon for the

office of Councilman, unexpired term of Councilman Gordon
E. Bowler:
Walter A. Benson
Barbara B. Eastman
NOW, THEREFORE, IT IS HEREBY RESOLVED by the City Council
of the Town of Los Altos Hills :
1. That the City Council finds and hereby ratifies and
declares the result of the Special Municipal Election held
on April 11, 1967, to be as follows:
a) That said Special Municipal Election was
held and conducted in the Town of Los Altos
Hills, County of Santa Clara, State of Cali-
fornia, on Tuesday, April 11, 1967, in the
time, form and manner required by law.
b) That there were four voting precincts :
1. Consolidated Precinct No. 1 con-
sisting of county precincts
2381, 2382and2395.
2. Consolidated Precinct No. 2, con-
sisting of county precincts
2383, 2387, 2393, and 2394.
3. Consolidated Precinct No. 3 con-
sisting of county precincts
2384, 2385, 2390 and 2391.
4. Consolidated Precinct No. 4 con-
sisting of county precincts
2386, 2388, and 2392.
c) That a canvass of the votes cast in said
city for said office were duly held in accord-
ance with the order of the City Council and
in accordance with law.
d) That there were four consolidated precincts
numbered "1" through "4", and the following num-
ber of votes was cast in each precinct for the
candidates :

e) That 35 duly registered voters who ex-
pected to be absent from their election
precinct on the day of the election
secured ballots from the City Clerk, and
that the City Clerk has certified to this
Council that 35 of said absentee ballots
issued by her have been cast in the time
requiredby law. _
f) That all absent voter ballots have been
duly received and canvassed in the time, form
and manner as required by law, and the result
of the absentee vote for the candidates are
as follows, without regard to precincts :

2. That theabove canvass shows:
a) That, the total number of ballots cast in
the City is 1,374.
b) That the total number of votes for each
person, including absentee ballots is :

IT IS FURTHERRESOLVED that this Council does declare that

Walter A. Benson had the highest number of votes for said
office, and that he was therefor elected to fill the unex-
pired term of Councilman Gordon E. Bowler.
IT IS FURTHER RESOLVED that the City Clerk be and she
is hereby instructed to enter this resolution in full in the
minutes of this Council as the statement of the result of
said Special Municipal Election, and that the City Clerk be
and she is hereby authorized and directed to perform any and
all incidental duties required by law in connection herewith.

I HEREBY CERTIFY that the foregoing Resolution was
adopted by the City Council of the Town of Los Altos Hills
at an adjourned regular meeting of said Council on the 18th
day of April, 1967, by the following roll call vote:
AYES: Councilmen Davey, Fowle, Mayor Pro Tem Aiken
NOES: None
ABSENT: Mayor Henley
