A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE TOWN OF LOS
ALTOS HILLS, AUTHORIZING THE MAYOR AND CITY CLERK TO ENTER
INTO A CONTRACT WITH THE CITY OF LOS ALTOS, PURSUANT TO THE
JOINT EXERCISE OF POWERS ''ACT.
WHEREAS, the Town of Los Altos Hills is facing the
problem of immediate development of its rural area by subdivi-
sions , schools and churches ; and - -
WHEREAS said future development will cause consider-
able difficulty in the disposal of sewage effluent by virtue of
septic tanks alone ; and .
WHEREAS there arenow under construction many new
homes and one church in the locality, and it is necessary that
some immediate arrangements be made for the disposal of sewage
through a main trunk line of the City of Los Altos to its sewage
treatment plant ; and
WHEREAS, contact has been made with the City of Los
Altos , and it has signified its willingness to permit such con-
nection under specified terms ; and,
WHEREAS the territory hereinafter involved has not
sufficient valuation to warrant the erection of a disposal plant,
and the only feasible remedy is to build a trunk line to connect
with the City of Los Altos ;
NOW, THEREFORE, IT IS HEREBY RESOLVED that the Mayor
and City Clerk of the Town of Los Altos Hills be and they hereby
are authorized to execute said Joint Exercise of Powers Agreement ,
subject to approval of the City Attorney, a copy of which is attach-
ed hereto and incorporated herein by reference, and marked Exhibit
"A".
IT IS FURTHER RESOLVED that a certified copy of this
resolution and attached contract be forwarded to the City Council
of the City, of Los Altos..
I HEREBY CERTIFY that the foregoing resolution was
adopted by the Council of the Town of Los Altos. Hills at a Special
Meeting of said Council duly held on the 25th day of May, 1959, by
the following vote : V
AYES: Councilmen Bledsoe, Sherlock, Clayton, Mayor, Fowle
NOES: None•

ABSENT: Councilman Henley.
