CALL TO ORDER, ROLL CALL,AND PLEDGE OF ALLEGIANCE <br /> Mayor Cheng called the Regular Meeting of the City Council to order at 6:10 p.m. in the <br /> Council Chambers at Town Hall. <br /> Present: Mayor Emily Cheng, Mayor Pro Tem Mike O'Malley, Councilmember <br /> Bob Fenwick, Councilmember Breene Kerr and Councilmember Dean <br /> Warshawsky <br /> Absent: None <br /> Staff: City Manager Maureen Cassingham, City Attorney Steve Mattas, <br /> Associate Planner Debbie Pedro, Acting City Engineer/Director of Public <br /> Works Dave Ross, Administrative Services Director Sarah Joiner and City <br /> Clerk Karen Jost _ <br /> MOTION SECONDED AND CARRIED: Moved by O'Malley, seconded by <br /> Warshawsky and passed unanimously to limit the length of time for public comments to <br /> three minutes. <br /> 2. APPOINTMENTS AND PRESENTATIONS <br /> 2.1 Foothill College Measure E Update—Dr. Bernadine Fong, President <br /> Alan Harvey,Vice President of Educational Resources and Instruction <br /> Kurt Hueg, Director of Marketing and Public Relations <br /> Dr. Bernadine Fong, President Foothill College, thanked the City Council for the <br /> opportunity to present an update on Measure E building projects and to share the progress <br /> that has been made on the campus renovation with the College's neighbors. Fong noted <br /> that the completion date for the project is 2008. <br /> Alan Harvey, Vice President of Education Resources and Instruction, presented a power <br /> point presentation that included renderings of the proposed new buildings, new campus <br /> center, new parking lots and reconfigured campus entry with a water feature. He <br /> explained that the new buildings had been designed to maintain the architectural integrity <br /> of the college. To date, the project is within budget. Harvey reported that the student <br /> center will be replaced due to its proximity to an earthquake fault. The school has <br /> received additional funding for the new student center from the State. Harvey concluded <br /> his presentation by noting that President Fong has kept her Advisory Council, of which <br /> • City Manager Cassingham is a member, apprised with project updates. <br /> 1 City Council Meeting Minutes <br /> May 6,2004 <br />
