I, Side I, 124-250 <br />Mayor van Tamelen called the Special Meeting of the City Council <br />to order at 7:00 p.m. in the Council Chambers at Town Hall. <br />A. ROLL CALL: <br />Present: Mayor van Tamelen and Councilmembers Dronkert, <br />Fuhrman and Tryon <br />Absent: Councilmember Rydell <br />Staff: City Clerk Pat Dowd <br />4W B. INTERVIEWS AND APPOINTMENT TO THE LOS ALTOS LIBRARY <br />COMMISSION: <br />Council had received five applications for the Los Altos Library <br />Commission. Of the five, three were present for the interview <br />process. One of the applicants, Nancy Lofts, had been unable to <br />attend the meeting but had submitted a letter reiterating her in- <br />terest and noting that she would have sufficient time to serve on <br />the commission. Mrs. Judith Wilcziak had been out of town and <br />was therefore not available for the scheduled interview. <br />van Tamelen explained the voting procedure. Each Councilmember <br />would give their first choice five points, second choice four <br />points, etc. <br />Council then interviewed Elayne Dauber, Carol Kleyensteuber and <br />Kenneth Pearce for the Los Altos Library Commission. Each ex- <br />plained their interest in libraries, their willingness to serve <br />the community on this commission and their ability to spend the <br />time which would be required. Council commented that all of the <br />applicants were well qualified and very experienced. <br />LW <br />
