Helgesson called the regular meeting of the City Council of the <br />Town of Los Altos Hills to order at 7:45 P.M. In the Council Chambers of the Town <br />Hall, 26379 Fremont Road, Los Altos Hills, with the following members answering <br />roll call: Present: Councilman Davey, Grabowski, Kubby, Miller and Mayor Helgesson. <br />Absent: None. <br />PLANNING COMMISSION REPRESENTATIVE: Commissioner Mueller. <br />APPROVAL OF MINUTES: Minutes of April 3, 1972. <br />Councilman Grabowski moved, seconded by Davey and carried unanimously that the <br />minutes of April 3, 1972 be approved as written. <br />COMMUNICATIONS: <br />I. Los Altos Hills Association requested that the Council reef f l rm Resolutions <br />(, No. 624 and 625. <br />kr 2. Mr. J. R. Nabors expressed appreciation for enforcement of miniblke regulations <br />In area of Gardner Bullis School. <br />3. Mrs. W. S. Phy requested action be taken to Improve the dangerous traffic con- <br />dition existing where EI Monte is Intersected by the eastbound off -ramp of <br />IS 280. <br />4. Santa Clara County Board of Supervisors advised of their intent to create a <br />Commission on Human Relations that would have countywide Jurisdiction to affirma- <br />tively act in the elimination of prejudice and discrimination because of race, <br />religion, national origin, cultural background, sex or age. <br />5. Associated Students of Foothill College submitted a draft resolution for adoption <br />to urge the Congress and President to end the war In Viet Nam and urged support <br />of HR14055 calling for cessation of bombing, immediate withdrawal of U.S. troops <br />and an end to war funding within 30 days. Council concurred to agenda discussion <br />for the June 5, 1972 meeting. <br />SCHEDULED ITEM NO. I: <br />COUNTYNSI DISTRICT PRESENTATION - PETER B. LEWIS. <br />Los Altos Councilman Peter B. Lewis made a short presentation concerning the forma- <br />tion of a County Transit District. He noted that no tax Increase was being proposed <br />as It would be funded by a portion of the sales tax on gasoline. These ongoing funds <br />would generate $7.2 ml l l ion per year and he urged support at the June Primary to form <br />the County Transit District. Council discussion followed and Mayor Helgesson noted <br />that the Town had supported previous transit measures and he hoped they would support <br />this plan as well. <br />
