CITY COUNCIL <br />TOWN OF LOS ALTOS HILLS <br />%W REEL <br />OF A SPECIAL MEETING <br />REEL 47, SIDE I, TRACK I - FOOTAGE 00-530 <br />August 17, 1972 <br />Mayor Leslie A. Helgesson called the Special Meeting of the City Council of the <br />Town of Los Altos Hills to order at 4:00 P. M. In the Council Chambers of the Town <br />Hall, 26379 Fremont Road, Los Altos Hills, with the following members answering roil <br />call: Present: Councilmen Davey, Kubby, Miller and Mayor Helgesson. Absent: <br />Councilman Grabowski. <br />SCHEDULED ITEM NO. 1: <br />INTERVIEW WITH REPRESENTATIVES OF MANAGEMENT CONSULTANT FIRMS FOR THE PURPOSE OF <br />REQUESTING WRITTEN PROPOSALS. <br />Messrs. Angus N. McDonald and William R. Zion, representing Baxter, McDonald and <br />Company located In Berkeley, California, were Introduced and asked to give a brief <br />presentation on their company's background and experience, as well as a summary which <br />the proposed study would encompass. <br />In response to questions by the City Council, Mr. McDonald Indicated that they had <br />recently completed studies for two Jurisdictions of comparable size, namely, the <br />Town of Woodside and the City of Anselmo, and that they were In a position to submit <br />a written proposal to the Council in time to be considered at their meeting August 21. <br />Mr. McDonald stated both he and Mr. Zion would be responsible for preparing such a <br />study for the Town and that a report would be ready for the Council within thirty <br />days after approval of a contract. <br />liw Messrs, McDonald and Zion were thanked for their presentation and excused. <br />Mr. Robert Coop, representing A. D. Little, Inc. of San Francisco, was Introduced and <br />asked to present the background of his company and of the persons who would be <br />Involved in a management study for the Town of Los Altos Hills. <br />Mr. Coop Indicated that he would be the responsible party and that his expertise <br />would be used extensively In such a study. Mr. Coop further Indicated that he had <br />recently performed work for the cities of Walnut Creek and Salinas in the hiring of <br />a City Manager. <br />Mr. Coop presented a written proposal dated August 17, 1972 and stated that they would <br />be ready to start within seven days after acceptanceof the proposal by the City <br />Council. He Indicated he would have a verbal report for the Council within thirty <br />days, with his written report to follow within two weeks. <br />Following a question and answer period, Mr. Coop was thanked for his presentation <br />and excused. <br />4W <br />ADJOURNMENT: <br />There being no further business, the meeting was adjourned at 5:35 P. M., but <br />RECONVENED Immediately for the express purpose of placing an Item on the August 21st <br />Council Agenda calling for discussion and action on the hiring of a Management <br />Consultant. The Council concurred that this Item should be placed fairly early on <br />the agenda and numbered Item #3. Meeting was then ADJOURNED at 5:45 P. M.
