M <br />CITY COUNCIL <br />TOWN OF LOS ALTOS HILLS <br />MINUTES OF A REGULAR MEETING <br />July 6, 197o <br />REEL 27 - SIDE 2, TRACT 2 -- FOOTAGE 00-1150 <br />Mayor Walter A. Benson called the Regular Meeting of the City Council of the <br />Town of Los Altos Hills to order at 7:50 P. M. in the Council Chambers of the <br />Town Hall, 26379 Fremont Road, Los Altos Hills, with the following members <br />answering roll call: Present: Councilmen Davey, Grabowski, Helgesson and <br />Mayor Benson. Absent: Councilman Aiken. <br />5•w.0 0r6 ' -ii <br />PLANNING COMMISSION REPRESENTATIVE: Commissioner �t <br />COMMUNICATIONS: <br />1. League of California Cities Bulletin advises: <br />a. AS 1114 would allow government employees to reside outside of the <br />district, wherein they are employed. <br />b. AS 2310 would establish a regional agency with taxing power for <br />preservation of the Bay Area. <br />ANNOUNCEMENTS: <br />1. Palo Alto Planning Commission meets July 8 to continue discussion of <br />Livingston & Hlaney Report #3. <br />2. ABAG General Assembly meets in Berkeley on July 30, 1970, <br />3. Signal Hill requests support for Senate Bills 966 and 967 which would turn <br />back unused oil leases and thus free that land for other uses. <br />MOTION, SECONDED AND CARRIED: Councilman Helgesson moved, seconded by <br />Grabowski and carried unanimously by voice vote to urge passage of <br />Senate Bills 966 and 967. <br />SCHEDULED ITEM NO. 1: <br />REPORT ON TOWN -WIDE QUESTIONNAIRE. <br />Mrs. William Ward of the Hills Association presented the latest tabulations on <br />the Town -wide Questionnaire and noted that 842 answers had been received to date <br />of the 1889 mailed. These responses indicated the following about roads and <br />paths: <br />1. The Town was nearly 7 to 1 against paying any share of the costs with <br />Palo Alto should they plan to widen Arastradero Road to a four lane expressway <br />and where the road lies within the Town a similar ratio wished it to remain a <br />two lane road. <br />2. Nearly 6 to 1 favored making Town roads inconvenient to out-of-town through <br />traffic. <br />3. As to the adequacy that Interstate #280 was landscaped for beauty, the poll <br />showed a near 50/50 split, but 3 to 1 indicated improvement was needed with <br />t respect to noise. <br />City Clerk advised that, when flipping the tape when recording the OvvM <br />July 20, 1970 meeting, he had inadvertently erased the July 6, 1970 81317o <br />recorded Minutes. <br />
