CITY COUNCIL <br />TOWN OF LOS ALTOS HILLS <br />MINUTES OF AN ADJOURNED REGULAR MEETING <br />September 7, 1967 <br />Mayor Albert T. Henley called the adjourned regularmeeting to order at <br />7:50 P. M. in the Council Chambers of the Town Hall, 26379 Fremont Road, <br />Los Altos Hills, with the following members answering Roll Call: Present: <br />Councilmen Benson, Davey, Fowls, Mayor Henley. Absent: Councilman Aiken <br />(arrived at 7:54 P. M.). <br />The Planning Commission was represented by Chairman Hinckley. <br />The Minutes of the Regular Meeting of August 7, 1967 were approved as APPROVAL <br />submitted, upon Motion by Councilman Fowie, Second by Councilman OF MINUTES <br />Benson, with Councilman Davey abstaining, and Councilman Aiken absent.8/7/67 <br />The Minutes of the Regular Meeting of August 21, 1967 were approved MINUTES OF <br />as submitted, upon Motion by Councilman Davey, Second by Councilman 8/21/67 <br />Benson, with Councilman Fowls abstaining, and Councilman Aiken absent. <br />The City Manager read the -following communications: COMMUNICA- <br />1) Telegram from Mr. Huey D. Johnson, of The Nature Conservancy, <br />TIONS (1) <br />dated September 7, 1967, accepting the Council's terms as stated in <br />the City Manager's letter of August 23, 1967, including the extended <br />payments at no interest and subject to suitable legal arrangements. <br />Council noted this.confirmation does not constitute a contract. <br />2) The following communication was received after the cut-off date, (2) <br />however, Council had no objection to its reading: Letter from Mr. <br />Donald A. Miller, Chairman of the Los Altos Hills Association rYeeway <br />Committee dated September 7, 1967, requesting that at least two members <br />of his Committee be allowed to participate in future discussions with <br />the Town Landscape Committee and the State Division of Highways Depart- <br />ment, in view of the confirmation from the Highway Department to agree <br />to a review. <br />3)In this connection, City Manager read letter from the Division of (3) <br />Highways dated August 28, 1967, agreeing to a review of the landscape <br />plans for a portion of the Junipero Serra Freeway for possible changes <br />that might help suppress theFreewaynoise. <br />City Manager announced there will be a meeting of the Town Landscape ACTION <br />Committee and the State Division of Highways at the Town Hall on <br />Monday, September 11, 1967 at 9:30 A. M. and the Mayor stated this <br />meeting is open to the public, especially to those who aro present <br />tonight and wish to attend. <br />Councilman Aiken arrived at 7:54 P. M. <br />4) Communication from the Board of Supervisors of the County of Santa (4) <br />{ Clara dated August 299 1967 requesting the Council to submit the name of <br />a nominee to complete the term, expiring June 30, 1968, on the Santa <br />Clara County Library Commission, which represents the County at -large.. <br />The Mayor requested the Council to be prepared to submit a natie of a ACTION <br />nominee before October 2nd. <br />
