ORDINANCE NO. 168 <br />AN ORDINANCE OF THE TOWN OF LOS ALTOS HILLS PROHIBITING <br />CERTAIN ACTS WITHIN THE LIMITS OF PARKS, PRESERVES OR OTHER <br />PUBLIC AREAS AND PROVIDING FOR PENALTIES FOR VIOLATION. <br />The City Council of the Town of Los Altos Hills does <br />hereby ordain as follows: <br />SECTION I. ACTS WITHIN LIMITS OF PARK, PRESERVE OR <br />OTHER PUBLIC AREA. <br />It shall be unlawful for any person to do any of the <br />acts hereinafter specified within the limits of any public <br />park, preserve or other public area in the Town of Los Altos Hills: <br />1. To cut, break, injure, deface or disturb any tree, shrub, <br />plant, rock, building, monument, bench or other structure, <br />apparatus or property; to pluck, pull up, out, take or remove <br />any shrub, bush, plant or flower; to mark, or write upon, any <br />building, monument, fence, bench or other structure; to cut or <br />remove any wood, turf, grass, soil, rock, sand or gravel; <br />provided however that Town employees and agents in the course <br />of their duties of maintenance of said areas shall be permitted <br />to do any or all of the above specified acts, and provided further <br />that acts by private individuals prohibited by this subsection <br />may be permitted where the public interest so requires, by <br />express prior authorization of the City Manager. This section <br />shall not be construed so as to apply to unavoidable accidental <br />damage to trees, shrubs and turf. <br />2. To distribute any handbills, or circulars, or to post, <br />place, or erect any bills, notice, paper or advertising device <br />or matter of any kind. <br />3. To make or kindle a fire for any purpose, or to in any <br />manner transport fire or any burning substance, except in <br />designated picnic areas where fireplaces are provided therefor, <br />ROBIN O.
