ORDINANCE NO. --V AN ORDINANCE ADOPTING A UNIFORM BUILDING CODE REGULATING THE CONSTRUCTION, ALTERATION, RENOVATING AND REMODELING OF BUILDINGS, THE ISSUANCE OF PERMITS THEREFOR, PROVIDING FOR THE ENFORCEMENT THEREOF, AND PENALTIES FOR ITS VIOLATION, ALL AS EMBRACED IN THE PROVISIONS OF THE UNIFORM BUILDING CODE (1961 EDITION) OF THE INTERNATIONAL CONFERENCE OF BUILDING OFFICIALS, INC. The City Council of the Town of Los Altos Hills does ordain as follows: Section 1. The City Council of the Town of Los Altos Hills does hereby adopt a uniform building code for said City which said build- ing code shall consist of all of the provisions of the Uniform Building Code of the International Conference of Building Officials, Inc. (1961 Edition) hereinafter termed "The Building Code" and each and all the regulations, provisions, penalties, conditions and terms of such building code (3 copies of which Code have been filed for use and examination by the public in the office of the City Clerk) are hereby referred to and are hereby adopted and made a part hereof the same as if fully set forth In this ordinance and are adopted as sections of this ordinance, except that the fees to be charged for various services thereunder shall be in accordance with a resolution providing therefor duly adopted by this City Council. Section 2. Penalty fee for late applications: Wherever work, for which under this Ordinance a permit is required, is started without obtaining such permit, a double fee for each permit thereafter granted shall be charged unless waived by action of the City Council of the Town of Los Altos Hills in cases deemed of special hardship and without intent to evade this Ordinance. Section 3. This Ordinance shall not be construed as imposing upon the Town of Los Altos Hills any liability or responsibility for damages resulting from defective building, plumbing or electrical work; nor shall the Town of Los Altos Hills or any official or employee thereof be held as assuming any such liability or responsibility by reason of the inspection authorized thereunder.
