Town' s, House Moving Ordinance,, stating that it has come to his attention that a house is aq be moved into the Town and that the property owners in the area have stated their objections. Phe Clerk mentioned that the Town' s Ordinance is basically the same attheOrdinances Of the City of Los Altos, Palo Alto , Mountain View, and Sunnyvale, with the main difference being the requirement for a public hearing to approve the building.. ACTION: That the Attorney be instructed to draft an amendment to Ordi- nance No, 53, to be returned to the Table later during the meet- ing for a possible First Reading. Mr Riley presented a letter, dated May 3, 1963, in which he request- ed._permission for installation of partial-overhead and partial under- �ground utilities: ACTION: That the request for variation from the Ordinance requiringun- derground -utilities be denied. MOTION: Fowle; SECOND: Aiken; VOTE: Passed unanimously The Clerk suggested, in addition to the Planning Commission' s require- ments, that the Subdivider be required to grant an eight foot (8'); easement for paths (pedestrian and equestrian) to the Town to connect to the Kern property for a future connection with O'Keefe Lane. Mr. Ward stated that was agreeable to granting the easement. ACTION: That the Tentative Map ofWard-Brendel (252-63) 4 lots be ap- proved in accordance with the conditions of the Check List and the additional condition of granting of a eight foot (8' ) ease- ment forpedestrian and equestrian path in & southerly direction along the common boundary of Lots 1 and 2, to intersect with. the northerly boundary of the property of Kern. MOTION: Fowls- SECOND: Aiken; VOTE: Passed unanimously 3. ' McDougall, Stanley (254-63) 2 lots. Engr. John W. Riley- ' ACTION: That the Tentative Map of Stanley McDougall (254-63) 2 lots be approved in accordance with the Planning Commissions Check List. Resolution No. 233 - A Resolution of the City Council Defining and Establishing Certain Streets and Parts of Streets In the Town of Los Altos Bina as One-Way Streets , Through Streets and Stop Intersections, . No Parking Areas, and Truck Routes. The Title of Resolutibn No. 233- was read. ACTION: That further reading of Resolution No. 233 be waived. MOTION; Fowle; SECOND! Ordinance No. 88, amending Ordinance No. 29, relative to placement of underground utilities in newly constructed residences , was pre- sented and re-sented'and read in its entirety by the City Attorney. The Ordinance will be read the second time on '.May20, 1963. 3. Ordinance No. 89 - Amendment to Ordinance No. 53, The Ordinance , amending Ordinance No. 53, relative to buildings , . being moved within the Town, was presented and read in its entirety by the City Attorney. He ' ;commented ron the lack of proper communication 'between the Planning Commission and the City Council. ACTION: That the Planning Commission be requested to study and to make recommendations to. the Council on the following matters pertain- ing to underground utility installations : 1: The desirability of a long-range program which would re- sult inultimate placement underground of all utilities within the Town, 2. The presently established requirement that all utilities in new subdivisions be placed underground, and the correspond- ing present requirement that all house connections from such underground installations in new subdivisions also be placed underground. 3. The desirability of a program for placement underground of new house connections from existing above-ground utilities. 4. The desirability and feasiblity, with particular emphasis upon financing questions, of a program for placement of exist- ing utilities lines underground. 5.. Time schedule for any such program. The Staffis directed to provide to the Planning Commission such information as may be reasonably available and requested by the Commission. Special emphasis is placed on .IteMs 1, 4 & 5. MOTION: Aiken; SECOND: Fowle; VOTE: Passed unanimously 'WARRANTS: Bills., in the amount of $7 ,281..85, were presented by Councilman Fowls., ACTION: That the bills, as presented, be approved“ that the Clerk be authorized to draw the appropriate warrants.
