CITY COUNCIL <br /> TOW OF LOS ALTOS HILLS <br /> MINUTES OF A REGULAR MEETING <br /> October 5, 1959 <br /> The Regular Meeting of the City Council of the Town of Los Altos Hills <br /> was called to order by Mayor John M. Fowle Monday, October 5, 1959 <br /> at 7:50 1, it, at the Town Hall, 26379 W. Fremont Ave. , Los Altos Hills. <br /> ROLL CALL: PRESENT: Councilmen Bledsoe, Clayton, Henley, Sherlock, <br /> Mayor Fowle <br /> ABSENT: None <br /> MINUTES: September 21. 1959. <br /> ACTION : <br /> Adopt Minutes of September 21, 1959 as submitted. <br /> COMMUNICATIONS: <br /> 1. County Boundary Commission - Notification of proposed annexation <br /> designated as El Monte No. 16 to the City of Monntain View. <br /> Filed. <br /> 2. County Board of Supervisors - Letter regarding meeting to be held <br /> October 140 to discuss abandoning the Southern Pacific right of way <br /> and the Foothill Expressway (Los Altos) . <br /> Deferred to New Business. <br /> 3. Division of Highways - Letter regarding the proposed Magdalena <br /> Avenue interchange. <br /> Deferred to New Business. <br /> REPORTS: <br /> 1. Fire District Study Committee. <br /> Report was submitted by the Committee : Sidney W. Treat, Chairman, <br /> Planning Commissioners Don T. Hibner, and Arthur S. Alter. <br /> Mr. Treat gave a resume of the content of the report and the ex- <br /> hibits of the 35-page Report, and presented the Committee 's recom- <br /> mendation, that the Town remain in the Los Altos County Fire Pro- <br /> tection District until such time as mature study indicates a wiser <br /> action; that the City Attorney report on the possibility of chang- <br /> ing the Distriot from its present status to a type of district <br /> answerable to its own Electors, rather than to the Board of Super- <br /> visors. <br /> Following Comments from Councilmen and Mr. Robert Prior, Council- <br /> man from the City of Los Altos , the following action was taken: <br />
