Towle Monday, May 192, <br />1958 at 7:57 F. M. at the Town call, 26379 'Jest Fremont Avenue, Los <br />Altos Hills. <br />ROLL CALL: PRrSENT: Bledsoe, Clayton, Rothwell, Treat, Mayor Towle <br />,ABSENT : ?one <br />MINUTES: EM 5t, 1958. <br />Corrections: rage 1, last para. The word 'tank' was left <br />out. 'jhould read 'septic tank problem'. <br />Page 2, 4t para., 4t line. Should read 'build- <br />ing permit can be granted', etc. <br />Page 6, ME']TIYG ADJOURN 3D : Should state that <br />the meeting e -convened and adjourned 10:15 F. M. <br />ACTION: <br />Adopt minutes of May 5%, 1958 with correction. <br />OLD BUSINESS: <br />1, Los Altos Area Recreation rro ram. Letter, dated T?ay 120, 1958 <br />from Fayor Irving L. Atki,son, was read stating the recommendations <br />for an interim one year recreational program for the Los Altos area, <br />and requesting that the City Council state its intentions as to <br />participation in the program. <br />Following a discussion, the Vayor asked Commissioner Williams to ap- <br />point two members of the Planning Commission to work with Council- <br />man Treat to ascertain the facts regarding the program. <br />2. Freeway. Comments, submitted by the ^reeway Committee, dated May 19, <br />1958, and read by Councilman Rothwell, suggested that r. brief be Sdh.! <br />witted to the Highway Commission requesting that the rorting of the <br />freeway between Stanford and Simla Junction be restudied. <br />City Attorney Bullis disagreed with the Council, and very strongly <br />stated his objections, being that the Town should "go down with the <br />flag flying in a final effort to keep the freeway out of the Town <br />of Los Altos Hills", <br />letter was read from David Packard, rresident of Board of Trust- <br />ees of Stanford University an,' dated May 170, 1958 which stated, <br />"The University would expect to make no recommendation on the <br />route after it leaves University property either to the north or <br />11. to the south as long as the routes on the adjacent properties are <br />not inconsistent with the "C-4 or "C-5" - "C" routes across <br />Stanford University 7 rorerty. <br />
