' • • RESOLUTION NO. 586 A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE TOWN OF LOS ALTOS HILLS EXPRESSING THE INTEREST OF SAID COUNCIL IN THE FEDERAL FLOOD INSURANCE PROGRAM, AND REQUESTING THE INCLUSION OF THE TOWN OF LOS ALTOS HILLS WITHIN THE TWO YEAR EMERGENCY PROGRAM TO PROVIDE IMMEDIATE COVERAGE. WHEREAS, it has been difficult or impossible for residents of the Town of Los Altos Hills to purchase insurance protection against flood and landslide losses, and WHEREAS, pursuant to the 1968 Housing and Urban Development Act, the Federal Government is establishing a program pursuant to which such insurance will be made available, and WHEREAS, certain amendments have been adopted establishing a two year emergency program under which residents of communities which meet Federal requirements for land use and land management designed to minimize future damage from flood and landslide can obtain flood and landslide insurance before implementation of the full program, and WHEREAS, it is. deemed:..in the best interests of the citizens of the Town of Los Altos Hills that such coverage be made available at the earliest possible time, and WHEREAS,. the Town of Los Altos Hills has already adopted appro- priate zoning regulations, building codes and other measures to eliminate or minimize damage from future floods or landslides, NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the City Council of the Town of Los Altos Hills that: 1. Said Council does hereby express a positive interest in the two year emergency programand in the permanent insurance program established under the 1968 Housing and Urban Development Act. 2 . Said Council does hereby express its assurance that it has enacted appropriate zoning regulations, building codes and ROBIN D.
