111 <br /> RESOLUTION NO. 425 <br /> A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE TOWN OF <br /> LOS ALTOS HILLS RELATING TO THE CALIFORNIA COASTAL RED- <br /> WOOD ROUTE. <br /> WHEREAS, it is in the public interest and welfare of <br /> the people of Santa Clara County, the State of California, <br /> and the Nation to have established a National California <br /> Coastal Scenic Redwood Road and Trails System; and <br /> California <br /> WHEREAS the legislature of the State of <br /> has enacted and the Governor signed Chapter 1.8, Division 5 <br /> of the Public Resources Code (1966 Session, Senate Bill 23) ; <br /> and <br /> WHEREAS, the National California Coastal Scenic Redwood <br /> Road Committee which was appointed under that authority has <br /> completed its presently authorized task by submitting its <br /> final report to the 1968 Legislature; and <br /> WHEREAS, the report strongly recommends the creation of <br /> a California Coastal Redwood Route with a further recommendation <br /> for proper staffing and funding to make a plan for implementing <br /> the Redwood Route; and <br /> WHEREAS, the City Council strongly support these recom- <br /> mendations as a vital step in the development of a project of <br /> statewide and national significance; <br /> NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that the City Council of <br /> the Town of Los Altos Hills hereby approves of the recommen- <br /> dations of the Final Report of the National California Coastal <br /> Scenic Redwood Road and Trails Committee and urges early <br /> state legislative action and gubernatorial approval of con- <br /> tinuing legislation to implement the California Coastal Red- <br /> wood Route; <br /> BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the Clerk of the City Council <br /> LASORIO & FAISANT -1- <br /> ATTORNEYS AT LAW <br /> 300 THIRD STREET <br /> LOS ALTOS, CALIF. <br /> 948-8200 <br />
