110 <br /> RESOLUTION NO. 65 <br /> A RESOLUTION OF THE TOWN OF LOS 'ALTOS HILLS <br /> RESOLVED that the Council of the Town of Los Altos <br /> Hills go on record as opposing any routing of the Junipe,ro 'Serra <br /> Freeway within its borders, <br /> Any routing thru the Town will cause disruption, hard- <br /> ship and expense to its citizens. • <br /> That the more Westerly the route the greater the dis- <br /> ruption, hardship, and expense, <br /> That the Council state very emphatically to the High- <br /> way Commission that adoption of any more Westerly route is the <br /> result of, Political Expediency at the expense of sound engineer- <br /> ing value. <br /> That it is the moral responsibility of the Highway Com- <br /> mission to consider local traffic problems, present and future, as <br /> they are increased or alleviated by the placement of the Freeway. <br /> Before considering any of the more Westerly routes, the <br /> Commission is morally obligated to obtain positive and binding proof <br /> that an Expressway will be built along the Southern Pacific right <br /> of way to handle local traffic, adequately. <br /> It is the responsibility of the Highway Commission to in- <br /> quire into and pass judgement on the methods of financing of such <br /> an Expressway and to make sure that the financial burden will be . <br /> spread equitably among the users of the Expressway. <br /> That the Town of Los Altos Hills will demand and expect <br /> substantial concessions from the Department of Highways in the way <br /> of financial assistance, improvement of access roads, landscaping, <br /> etc. , if against our wishes, any portion of the Freeway passes thru <br /> our Town. <br /> This Resolution was duly introduced and adopted atreg- <br /> ular adjourned meeting of the City Council of the Town of Los Altos <br /> Hills on the 29% day of April , 1958, by the following vote: <br />
